I know +5 piercing is a better adornment, but I am only using Absolution and Oblivion's Edge atm and don't really want to invest in a fabled adorn (I'm poor) What would be a better adornment for assassin's, +12 piercing or +12 poison damage?

+12 piercing dmg. You have a lot of CAs which get a boost, although small, every time.

Interesting. I always assumed the +12 piercing only applied to the weapon itself. Does it really affect all piercing damage?

I am beginning to wonder if +5 piercing is always the best. I can think of a few fights where I begin to suffer some serious power problems. It may be worth having one weapon with power drain. In my case I am blessed to have GDOH, Rapier, and DON. I have +5 on GDOH & Rapier, may adorn DON with power drain. Anyway I do like +5 piercing. It's nice, particularly since I can't seem to find whirling blades M1.

Usually by the end of a double statue fight I'm swapping in Mental Breach to get back power to be able to continue dishing out damage. This time, I didn't have to switch at all. It was wonderful! If you are close to skill max (455) I'd *highly* recommend a mana tap on a weapon. I was very surprised how well it worked.

My Paladin alt already has one. I can tell you it procs a lot. It seems like you're using ~two power items just with this proc.

Wow, an adornment that's actually...usefull? *gasps*

By usefull I mean usefull in proportion to the amount of coin you invest in order to get it.

with only a cheesy mid lvl power drain proc, the one that gives 80 power back, i got over 500 power back on a relatively quick Grilnaw fight last nite, it's only one i've parsed

I had no outside haste, just DT access bracelet

I have been experimenting with the drain proc on my off hand. I'll share my experiences so far. In terms of a whole zone, it didn't seem to affect the amount of power I needed to regen after fights. If I use mental breach, I don't need to use power totems when we're pulling fast and furious. I did not receive that much benefit from it to have that level of affect. So in that sense, the experiment was a failure. What I did notice it on was really long fights, like longer than 2 or 3 minutes. It was never enough to keep my power bar high like mental breach, but it significantly cut my need for power objects or being as worried about power. For example, on robochicken, normally by the last 20% or so I'm considering switching to mental breech to avoid a dps drop, with a dirge in the group providing regen, using manastone, power objects, etc. This last time, I was down to about 5% power when he died, but never really was worried about power. According to the parse I got about 2000-2500 power from it over the whole fight. That is pretty significant. It also helped in MMIS with the [Removed for Content] blood colossuses. I'm not sure yet whether I'd rather have the power drain or the +5 piercing. In a pure dps sense, the +5 piercing is better, but I hate switching poisons in long fights to keep up my CA damage. Sure you can do it but you're throwing money down the black hole, not to mention you lose a bit of dps when casting your poisons.
