So has anyone gotten to fire off a couple of these suckers with a Sarnak/Rigid/Star Darkened yet? How do they hit?  I'm going to assume stupidley hard.

<p>We just got the recipe tonight, and unfortunately.. they forgot to give our WW the seeds needed to craft these so I mostly likely wont get to test these until later in the week, or worse, next weekend.</p><p>Between this recipe, and killing the Rumbler, I'd say it was a good night. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

Tenderwood arrows have me very worried on the direction of the game.. As it is - we do 40%+ damage on auto attack. With these its going to be more like 70%+ auto attack.. The challenge vs damage is going to be severely lacking, as well as complete unballancing of classes.. Yes, it would be nice to have them.. But it would be completely unfair to every other dps class.

<p>If you're talking about the damage bonus (+300-odd on these) it doesn't impact that damage <u>that</u> much, certainly not enough to add another 30% on to the total dps output of auto attack. Certainly the huge +to hit will be amazing to have, aswell as the extra range for those fights that really need it. These arrows aren't the unbalanced, 'nerf me please' sign you think they are. </p><p>Although it does confuse me why the gleaming emeralds have a fabled tag but lesser stats, maybe the proc gives them it, it looks pretty sick.</p>

Making great DPS'ing Rangers even more item dependant, yet another item i'm never going to see. The gap between casual raiding and dedicated raiding grows even further appart.

<p>As a casual raider (approx 3 times per week), I look at it a little differently.  The endgame raiders need endgame gear.  They spend most of their time raiding, where as the rest of us spend most of our time doing things other than raiding.  There is going to be a gear gap.  It's the nature of our world.</p><p>Now, as long as my stuff doesn't get nerfed, I couldn't care less about the size of the gap between me and ultra-uber raiding ranger001.  What gear someone has that plays in zones that I can only dream about, has absolutely no effect on my gaming experience.</p><p>Putting items in the game that help raise the DPS for the one class most dependent on rare gear for DPS, makes sense to me.  It's not about who has the biggest bow in the game.<img src="/smilies/ed515dbff23a0ee3241dcc0a601c9ed6.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

That is the point to raiding, to get better things to make your character better. If there is anything to complain about it is that these come from such an easy mob, first floor EH and Tender are a joke. I have these arrows, a Rigid and a Star Darkened bow, and they hit hard, but not like it doubles bazkul ammo total output, sure the + damage is a lot higher, but still 200 damage every 9 seconds is not a 30% increase in damage output. If anything, the recent change to hit bonus makes us pretty amazing.

<p>I have to agree with Snow here. There really SHOULD be a difference between a high end, hardcore raider... and a causal raider. To think any other way would be silly. Im still using Sarnak, but Im looking forward to getting my hands on a Star Darkened, or a Rigid (that ones a ways off). If nothing else, its a driving force to keep playing. To get better.</p>

Our gear quality won't matter if our content challenge is scaled up to match what would be challenging for a high-end raider.

<p>I have these arrows infact had them for a while now. Recipe drops and makes 750 per stack. you need a seed from EH per stack however with changes to arrows 750 lasts a fair old time. I also have T7 legendary ammo.</p><p>I can say i've  noticed a better parse. The Hit bonus does mean my ammo is landing a bit more on lvl 71+ mobs.</p><p>I did top parse in EH but not by miles but they have made an impact on my dps for sure.the graphics is that they have flamed tips and from what i've parsed they do land more frequently and crit more. Also nice to have the +Pierce to them and the 75% bonus hit. So in short they are the best arrows so if u're a ranger get hold of them if you raid.</p>

Now all of this talk raises a question for me : If all of the raid stuff is so much better than the not-raid stuff, how will that compare for those of us who don't raid? I consider myself a casual raider, with maybe 2 or 3 raids a month. Is the stuff so much better that I should consider raiding or will I be fine continuing what I am doing?

You raise a very volatile question on which there are many threads.  Everyone wishes he/she had the best, shiniest gear out there but honestly my personal take on the subject is that you don't really need raid gear unless you are raiding.  All of the heroic instances, maybe with the exception of Nizara, are easily completable in crafted and treasured dropped gear.  In fact if you don't raid much a little more difficulty in the instances will make your time there more enjoyable.  Raiders raid because that is where the challenge for them.

<p>Aldwen, For the non-raiders, the T6 raincaller bow is your godsend. It has the damage to get the job done and a perfect proc for everything non-epic. So if you dont raid you dont need to feel cheated anymore IMO.</p><p>Combined with a full set of the EoF legendary armor and a proper AA spec, non-raiding rangers have it pretty good and should still be hitting top parses in a group environment, unless of course everyone else in your group is an avid raider. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p><p>As for the new arrows, glad they made a decent size stack. After hearing how the fabled arrows came one at a time I was worried at first.</p>

<p>Thought i'd get a screenie up for those who've not seen yet..</p><p><b><img src="http://www.ultimatereef.net/uploader/2006Q4/arrows.JPG" border="0"></b> </p><p>As for dps well any figures i show u'll probably say are rubbish but i've noiced a good increase personally.. por example..</p><p>Some named parses from FTH</p><p> Othysis Muravian </p><p>Monokee 288121 | 2381,17 | 2250,95 |Rain of Arrows-7179 </p><p>and </p><p>Zylphax the Shredder </p><p>Monokee 335567 | 2706,19 | 2485,68 | Sniper Shot-17525 </p><p> so i was quite happy with my dps been able to hang out with the necros sometimes lol... but arrows are sweet like i said +75% hit bonus is sweet and extra pierce is good as well.</p>

<p>i have to agree with Mono, having recently gotten my hands on a Ridgid bow,and some Tender wood Arrows it is for sure an inc in dps.{duh!}tho i still find my dps rises and drops crazy, with my current setup i have parsed as high as 3300 on an encounter. Then on another almost exact same encounter drop to 2100 to 2400.  /shrug...... havent figured it out exactly cause thats a huge drop,if anyone  specially mono has any advice or thoughts ,Holla!!       </p><p>       Altarr'Straight'shot 70 Ranger  // The Bazarr</p><p>                           </p>

Plus, they aren't consumed when you hit with them for some odd reason, only consumed when u miss...omgz ranger hax. Tenderwood arrows aren't imbalanced, just the ranger class in general... gwar.
