"Best DPS spec" is highly dependent on your level of equipment and whether you're solo/group oriented or raid-oriented. Nevertheless, here's a few potentially good ways to go:

Strength-Line Combinations~

STR + INT: The "old standby" for a lot of people, this is a very well-rounded build for soloing, grouping, and light/casual raiding. The build tends to go 4-4-8 STR, another 7-8 in Claw Reversal if you choose (subjective), and then 4-4-8-8-(2) in the INT line. The reasons for this are simple: 2.3% crit chance x 8 points = 18.4% crit rate, plus 75% crits and a nice MIT boost when you drop under 30% HP. So for soloing or small groups, you have a 93% crit chance when your HP gets low and you're double-attacking 96% of the time. Without the allocated points for Claw Reversal, you've spent 43 points and have 7 remaining to distribute as you see fit. If you don't think a 4.5% Riposte chance is worth it, you may want to dump points in Pressure Point to increase its damage and debuff values.

STR + WIS + INT: A bit less common but viable nonetheless. You do the same thing in the STR line as before, but also go 4-4-8 WIS and 4-4-8 INT; this is a total expenditure of 49 points so throw your spare wherever. This gives you 96% double-attack chance, 18% crit chance, and an 8% chance to hit up to 4 targets in AoE. As with all things proc related, the 8% AoE chance will flux up and down with different weapons, and bare fists have a 2.5 delay which gives a relatively decent rate.

STR + STA + INT: Another less common but viable setup, you spend your points the same as in STR/WIS/INT but in different lines. This gives you a 96% double-attack rate, 18% crit rate, and 24% proc rate for decent damage; again this proc is modded somewhat by the 2.5 delay of bare fists.

STA + INT: This is more popular for Monks than Bruisers since they have personal Haste that can hit a 101 Haste rating in Combined stance (before adornments even!) but it bears mention. You will need weapons for this setup, unlike anything with STR line. The concept here is to get a good mix of tanking and dps - This is achieved through 4-4-7-8 STA and 4-4-8-8-(2) INT. This gives you a 24% proc rate, 18% crit rate, the Eagle Shriek ability (which is quite nice), and increases in Deflection and Parry.

Before I continue on to EoF AA's, it bears to mention that Parry skill contributes to Riposte directly once you achieve a Parry% of 20 or greater. As per EoF combat changes, paraphrased: "Everything past 20% Parry turns into Riposte chances." When tanking this helps to increase your DPS as well as helping to trigger Retribution of Stone if you choose that EoF AA ability.

EoF Abilities~

All of the DPS-related EoF AA's are in the far-right "Knockout" line, at least so far as actually increasing damage is concerned. How you choose to spend points in this and other lines depends on what else you want to do with your Bruiser.

For Solo / Group-Tanking: Spend 20 points in the Conditioning line and then purchase Retribution of Stone. Although the trigger chance will be relatively low, it will indeed help soak damage and the abilities you'll be spending points on in this line are well worth it. 5 points in the personal heal (Ignore Wounds & upgrades), 5 points in the temporary non-stunning MIT buff (Bruising Spirit and upgrades), and then your choice of putting the remaining 10 points into 5 each of any combination of: Indomitable Will + Heavy Scarring, Indomitable Will + Stone Deaf, Stone Deaf + Closed Mind. I'd personally recommend Indomitable Will and Stone Deaf. From here, spend points in whatever Knockout abilities you deem best and buy Drag, or not, at your discretion.

For Group-DPS / Raid DPS: You probably won't need the Conditioning line if you primarily raid or act as backup-tank / DPS in groups. As such, you should invest in the Knockout line first and foremost, but make certain to take a jog through FD enhancement to Alternate: Shiftiness. Shiftiness acts as an alternate stance to the Rough-house line; it grants no damaging proc, but it has a chance to proc a de-taunt on each successful attack, which allows you to go full bore with almost no fear of ever stealing aggro. If you're a raider, you may wish to spend 20 points in the Attention line (including your 5 in Shiftiness) so that on a Raid you can use Evade instead, which allows you to dodge off the top of the hate list without plummeting straight to the bottom.

Hope you find this helpful,

-Hadanelith Raswrolski / Mossda Odis'Ossda, Kithicor Server
