Sol Ro (+65 spell dmg) is nice, but once you start killing avatars, your faction is hosed, so there is little in the way of blessings to go for.

So, pick the one that has the cloak you like best.

If I recall correctly, the fear cloak is not very attractive for us, even if a blessing and a miracle are intriguing... so 9 out of ten bards, aswell as 4 out of 5 dentists who recommend [haxxored by Ranjinn for referencing a product not-endorsed by SoE] for their patient's who chew gum, worship Sol Ro for the spell dmage cloak and good damage blessing (Sol's Fury or something) and miracle (incinerate).

As an aside... I went Sol Ro. Dumped a ton of gear into favor after quests. Then renounced to attempt slaying his avatar. We got the hang of it and were making good progress, but another guild on RE got the kill first. I then re-enlisted in butcherblock with our prophet.

Now, each time I dump gear on my altar it warns me I am going to be over my maximum favor with Sol Ro. And though I have dumped ~3k of favor on my altar in gear again, I do not (yet) have access to blessings and miracles.

[Yes - I am a follower again-it does show on my profile when i hit "p"]

Am I permanently hosed from blessings/miracles for Sol Ro?

Are there quests I can do that will raise favor faster than gear, which I could otherwise "boom" for transmuting?

Regardless, if you will ever attmpt avatars, one lesson is don't maintain high favor--only keep enough in there for the miracles/blessings you will use in the near term.

Finally, I am hoping, oh dear developers that don't often read/acknowledge the lowly bard threads, that in a not-to-distant future expansion Bristlebane joins the worshipped pantheon and that he is ideal for us... from a lore perspective the trickster is our preferred deity...

Happy hunting,

For Sol Ro, you're looking at -thousands of faction.

You could drop your God before a fight, but then you may run into issues such as what a previous poster mentioned.

You cannot really kill your avatar without dropping your deity... you will be stunned/stifled for the fight (and there may be a second effect as well) and useless to your raid. If the other 23 in the raid kill him without you taking a swipe or sining a tune, I assume you still take the faction hits leaving you SOL either way.

As for cloak and blessings/miracles, no, you misunderstood. You will enjoy your cloak and miracles blessings together so long as you never attempt to kill your own deity's avatar. I was talking about how to get back on his good side if you kill or even attempt to slay your own (previous) deity's avatar (and myriad adds).
