So now I have a worthless fabled hands adornment. Thanks, SOE! Didn't need that 10 plat anyways.

You might wonder why spell crits affect it but not spell damage, but that's thinking logically.

Can anyone confirm this? I just got the fabled class set gloves, and was planning on getting the adornment this weekend, perhaps I will wait and see first...

*Editted, just noticed, it's official, from test server update notes, this sucks

*** Poisons ***

- Poisons will no longer use spell damage modifiers found on a number of items.

I've gotten that adornment on 2 sets of gloves now. Yay for wasted plat!

This is just stupid. Why do they hate us so much? Our dps is already lower than it should be. If anything they should add it to more stuff like weapon procs. Why should stuff affected by spell crits not be affected by spell damage modifiers? They are definitly out to get us.

Makes me glad I never got one of these adornments. Sorry you guys are out plat.

Aye i never trusted the adornments besides the pure stat ones and the small procs

i only expect them to be nerfed even further

That is schittee... sorry to hear the waste $$ people have put into honing their dmg output. I have to agree with the comment about "not trusting" the adornments. just seems too volatile of a system for the devs to just (as already seen is action) rip them up and redo them for S&G's. Reimbursed Plat? Don't count on it. If it happens, great! but dont count on it.

This was not a logical nerfing at all. If so, then the pred INT aa-line should be revamped as well because it works on the same premise. Saying that is why the adornments were altered isn't a good excuse either because then you can attribute the same line of logic to our self-haste and self-dps buffs and that they should nerf the adornments which add to the overall total because they make it all unbalanced as well. Maybe assassins shouldnt even be allowed to use adornments...

Like Dawk had initially expressed, they (devs) may not be out to get us... but dang-it they sure dont seem to put much (if any) effort forth to help us out.

Im curious if anyone knows if the Bolt of Energy effect on some gear added dmg to poisons as well. If it didn't than that is why they are changing this because the adornment is supposed to be the same thing pretty much. Its Bolt of Energy V basically. The wording and everything is virtually identical.

I hadn't tried any bolt of energy gear. Nothing really has seemed worth using with the effect.

First of all nobody is out to get you. The change is pretty much a global one but poisons were the best known offender of the bug so when I wrote the notes thats what I mentioned. In general a proc or damage shield is not supposed to get modified with spell damage because they are essentially instant cast spells. In the case of poisons it was using the 4 sec cast time of the expendable which caused them to give the full bonus amount even though the proc is an instant cast spell. So think of this as more of a global change rather than targeting any one class. Also the adorments with the +X spell damage and such should be getting removed from your items and placed in inventory once the change goes live with GU33.

Thanks, appreciate the update. Although, now there's nothing I really want in the hands slot.

Damage shields and poisons were given examples. He is not saying poison does not count for spells, nor that proc damage shouldnt crit from normal spell crits.
