CHeers to all bruisers out there!!

As a Bruiser I've learned a few things, and would like to share them with everyone.

Remember to always steal single target agro from the plate tank when fighting in a group. If he complains, drop a /flex and tell him to stop hitting like a girl. Make him feel bad about loosing agro to a non taunting fighter class (Remember not to taunt, use the amazing burst DPS at your disposal. KOcombo works excelent for this).

Always /duel every monk you see, no matter what level they are or you are. Remember that although they may hit fast, they hit like fairies....some of them even ARE fairies(mumbles something about pansy monks).

Kick people off of things at every opportune moment. Knockback may not work on NPC's but it works wonderfully on any PC. Clothies and Plate tanks make the best noise after being kicked off of a cliff and hitting the rocks below. Try it out! (Try dueling someone waiting for the boats to EoF....kick them into the ocean if your really evil!)

Don't worry about AOE agro...EVER. Just use them. The AOE range is relativly small, plus If you pull some extra mobs, more fun for ya! Or you can feign them off after giving the rest of the group a heart attack =P.

NEVER listen to "stay here" commands from anyone. We can feign every 10 seconds (less with AAs)...theres no reason to stand in the corner, ever... Always wander off. Explore a bit...find a shiny or two! (The best shinies come from hard dungeons!)

If your feeling adventurish, try using sonic fist on an enemy at a lower altitude than you. Jump at them, while mid air use the ability...you'll return to the point where you activated it (mid air) but float there. Who said EQ2 doesn't have levitate?

Definatly hit the Bugaboo with a snowball every time you visit Unrest.

And last, but not least, Any quest steps that involve inspecting, collecting, or any other non-combat related steps are soloable for us bruisers...getting to anyplace in the game is not a problem with the proper use of feign, close mind, stoneskin, and sprint!

Feel free to add to this list, and of course anything that makes fun of monks gets an A+!

It's like... it's like you've been following me around!

Macro a few lines, so you're ready if a monk does join the group before you have a chance to stop it:

1) "Exactly how many times do you have to slap the monster before it will register as damage?" 2) For after a fight... "Let the monk open the chest, those bards can pick locks" 3) "I'll bring 'em in, casters, let me build agro a bit this time, scouts, yell if you get one on you, monk, shake the pom-poms really hard if you see us needing cheering on." 4) And the ever-reliable "What is it that you *do* bring to a fight?"

Redmouser Bruiser, AB

Taken from the Monk Forum:

Well, I made a Ratanga bruiser about six days ago and pondered to keep her a bruiser or go monk. So I went to the boards, and from what I gathered from the bruiser's boards made me feel like I should go monk and that was strongly enhanced by the information and atmosphere of this board. Last night she betrayed and is still doing the quests for Kelethin faction for citizenship - my friend teased me about becoming a tree rat, so when she get's to 20, her surname will be Silly'Squirrel. Yup, you got another monk in the making on Crushbone, her name's Tsidii. Thanks for the wealth of information and comradarie I sense here.

I'd have to agree. While I enjoy beating the living crap out of everything I see, the ability to save people has always been of top priority to me.
OOC: In all honesty, I got my good friend IRL to finally try EQ out, and he loves the monk(he's never tried the bruiser) Now I obviously make fun of him all the time for being my opposite....however realisticly it works out fantasticly. The bruiser and monk buffs combined are pretty effective, plus I do the tanking (b/c im higer lvl and mentored bruisers rule) so he can hit me with a heal on top of my own, which works out excelently. We also do alot of agro-trading.

He's only 43 so far, i've been mentoring him for almost 2 months now helping him catch up... Its so much easier b/c we can both feign, we can both skip b/s mobs and go right for nameds.... great duo combo if you keep the pulls realistic.

The reason I won't ever be a monk? "Can you believe Vandis? ..." "Gather 'round, gather 'round..." "Have you ever seen a Gnoll..." Oh, wait.. mustn't forget Kelethin.. "Once, I saw a rainbow so beautiful by the waterfall that I cried..." Are you [Removed for Content] serious?! I won't even go into Maj'dul and their slimy "smile in your face, and stab you in the back" attitudes... can't even be truthful to themselves. I'll admit, Freeport isn't the greatest on the planet, everyone out to try and use each other, within the strict law allowed. But in all honesty, I'd rather be an Enforcer in Hell, than a [Removed for Content] Security Guard for "It's a small world after all".
