These items are sold to NPC guilds , not player guilds. You should right click each item and see which faction it goes with. It will say something like " this item liiks like it would be valuable to a guild of scouts" . Take that item to the scout guild ( normally around the scout trainers) and find the relic merchant. Click the merchant to open the sell window. You will notice the items that the guild wants to give you status for will list the status returned to you in a light blue text. If the relic is for a different guild it will not list a status return and will only offer you coin. There is a relic for each faction , and each tier , so just be sure you are going to the right guild for each sale.

Hope that helps

When you sell these items to the correct merchant, it will give you Status (SP). If you are a member of a guild, 10% of the status you earn will also be earned by the guild. This is how guilds level, by its members earning status.

Even though you aren't in a guild, you can still earn Status points which can have benefits to you. Guilds would happily have their members buy these items from you though, so they could sell them for their own guild's leveling.

If you don't care about your personal status points, you could simply contact a member of a guild and see what they'd pay for them, or put them on the broker. Someone will buy them for the status they can give. However, I suggest you sell them yourself and earn status, which can be used for certain equipment from those factions, and special housing (correct me if I'm wrong there).

(IMO.. not arguing ) The equipment that one can buy with status points from faction vendors is usually pretty useless by the time somebody has enough personal status and enough faction (10,000 Warmly). As for housing.. anybody who is unguilded is probably not interested in grinding out writs day and night and that is exactly what will happen to a solo player who purchases a house that requires a minimum status every week. Put them on the broker. If you have enough of them you can pull in quite a pretty penny since they're going for as much as 70 Silver to 12 Gold each depending on the level.

Ah, I'm a noob myself, so I didn't know how good or not that equipment was.

I have a question about Status in general.. is it spent like money, or do you just need to have enough of it to gain access to the rewards?

Houses can have status upkeep? Does that mean you have to pay status points instead of money (or in combination with money) every week?

We're all "new" at one point, so no worries.

If a faction says you need "x" faction standing, that means you need at least that amount to have the chance at buying it. Once you hit "x" faction, and you have the required status and coin, you'll be able to purchase said item. I, personally, stayed away from the faction armor/clothing. Stats aren't that good, although the RP aspect would be nice I suppose.

2 types of housing. 1) Require straight coin, no status. 2) Require coin AND status. All houses that require status are going to cost you less gold. You can get furniture made that'll reduce status costs also. I just bought my first 5 Bedroom house which has a 50k/week status cost. With furniture, it's now down to 0 and all I have to do is pay the weekly gold upkeep.

Good luck out there, hope I didn't miss anything!
