Hi, I am an ex-eq2 player, forced to quit when I came to university due to the accomodation blocking the ports for online gaming. It has been almost 2 years since then, and was wondering if it is worth coming back? I miss playing the game, but I am worried that everyone will have moved onto the later lands of game and their will be no one to help me out early on as my character will surely have been deleted from the server so i will have to start fresh. With that in mind I will surely not remember how to do everything and not be strong enough to defeat everything alone. I wish to rejoin the evil servers but am willing to go for good. What do you think the conditions of number of people around the game being in mid september?

Thanks

James

Formally EQ2 Character: Vigil - Level 35 in 2005

Definately worth coming back to, its a entirely different game. Jump on the high pop servers such as AB, Nektulous or others and you should be fine but scout around first as some are barren on the low end.

It is highly unlikely that your characters have been deleted. If you reactivate your account your old characters should still be there. I left EQ2 for about 15 months and came back a few months ago. All was as I had left it (except my UI as I had switched computers in the interim). I couldn't find my CDs but was able to download the entire client in less than a day on DSL. Two months later I'm very happy that I'm back. I play on Kithicor and just yesterday I found myself in both Antonica and Commonlands as different characters. While passing through those zones I did a /who 10 19. Antonica yielded fifteen players and Commonlands ten. IMO that's a pretty good number for a tier 2 zone four months after the release of the latest expansion. If I had gone to Greater Faydark I probably would have found another fifteen or more teen level characters. I don't look for groups with my alts often as I don't usually play them for long stretches of time, but when I have looked for a group I haven't had much difficulty. I constantly see people forming groups at all levels of the game. Well, I don't see people forming groups in the 60-69 chat because I turned that off. Too much drama and spoilers for my taste. :p

You shouldn't have too much trouble finding a server with a lot going on at low levels. You probably won't have to play for long before characters much higher than you ask you to join their groups so that they can mentor down to your level to turn in quests for AA. Some will be happy to do the quests with you so that you get nice AA and xp as well.

Come to Guk if you want to start fresh. We need all the new players we can get...Of course of SOE doesn't provide another method of keeping our alts except station access it won't matter. I won't be there for more than a few weeks
