Yes Dance! but For the sake of the gods stop flailing like that! Im glad to see you have no inhibitions... but can't we do anything more than that senseless flailing? I don't expect WoW dances... but somthing else heck even race specific dances would be nice to see.

I love the Fae dance animation , no flailing arms there.

I agree about the dance. lol. The Fae dance is too cute for words, but kinda silly for the men. Both dances are a little silly for the men. SoE has a good opportunity with this game to take it to the next level.

I saw this a couple weeks ago and saw how much better both WoW and EQ2 could be. LOL. I love these dance animations.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mCepqvZDiQw

I LOVE EQ2 and all, but dang. It feels a little bit like we're missing out on the "fun stuff" sometimes.

Vanguard has 4 animations for dance, why can't we get something new?

I'm all for racial and gender specific dances as well as choices to match your personality. Fae dance is great. The current dance is more like "happy-dance-of-fools-because-we-managed-to-zerg-something-and-now-we-are-really-excited-but-tired-so-very -very-tired"...

Now what would be cool is having a specific dance depending on the type of weapon you have equipped. You know kinda like the weapon demonstration videos from soul calibur 2 if you get me.

Like this... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hrIBhqV9AVg

So for example someone with 2 short weapons could do a kind of dance spinning their weapons in their fingers. Or someone with a halberd or spear could spin it in a figure of 8 around their body like you see in martial arts movies alot.

Dances should definately be more varied..and the weapon-specific idea would seem to be more like /brandish...which is horrid if you have anything other than a bladed weapon really..a gnome with a 5 foot staff would fall over if he held it like that...

Id like all new emotes added - few with every patch. Dances? sure - and add one thats kind of a formal slow dance where two characters dance together.

(playername) has asked u to dane...yes? No?

IF u say yes - it does something

If u say no maybe the declining character does some sort of brush off emote

I support better dance animation idea. Current one, on anything but maybe, fae makes one look like fool on drugs with high voltage cable stick in, erm ear. I remember in WoW we used to dance after conquering some dungeon etc. to celebrate out victory, but then in WoW it was fun dance to look at. Not this epilepsy shaking we have And as we at that you can improve equally bad sit animation, pretty please

it would be cool if two characters could actually dance (hug or otherwise interact). no idea how they would manage it... i suppose they'd have to do some sort of illusion where the characters would temporarily be replaced by an illusion of the two characters dancing. unless they get better fine tuning of collisions (or whatever its called) and more articulate skeletons. the illusion could replace whatever armor with formal clothes... hmmm an ogre female in a flowing gown with a train dancing with a gnome in a tux? ok... i just had a vision of the ogre female flinging the gnome around before eating. anyway, could be cool. especially if they ever let us into the castle.

So long as we're on the topic, may as well throw-down some race-specific dance ideas.

Frogloks - Break-Dancing. Ever since I saw the Froglok Monks demonstrating in Kugup, I haven't been able to get the idea of a breakdancing Froglok out of my head. Their bodies are built wonderfully for backspins, flips, and goofy cross-legged ending poses.

Gnomes - The Robot. Seriously. They're the masters of Tinkering, and it wouldn't hurt if they could throwdown with the clockworks of Klak'Anon in an oldschool dance-off for their hometown.

High-Elves - Ballroom Dancing. They're elegant, refined, and wear stiff highnecked clothing. Need I say more?

Dark-Elves - Rave Moves. This is centered in their EQ1 origins, with Neriak being the first location in all of EverQuest lore to have anything even remotely resembling neon lights. It just seems appropriate.

Half-Elves - Moshing. Let's face it, they look the most punk-rock of any EQ2 race from the jewelry options to the male mohawks. It's just so fitting.

Dwarves - Scottish Tap. You know you wanna see Dwarvish RiverDance. Admit it.

Halflings - Square-Dancing. It just seems appropriate for the little straw-biting coin-filching almost-as-drunk-as-Dwarves furfeet. In no way at all am I even considering the dancing habits of H***its from any genre-defining work done by "Tolki." <cough>

Humans - Line Dancing. I'm sorry but I had to go there, it's just the way the Human models look in EQ2. I know there's all sorts of stereotyping bias in what I'm saying here but just roll with me on this.

I know this is only a select few races of the many in EQ2 but it's something to start with.

-Hadanelith Raswrolski / Mossda Odis'Ossda, Kithicor Server

Glad to see so many others enjoyed this thread! I can't imagine its THAT much work to make a few new dances. They Don't have to be perfect just some variety. I love the dances in WoW and Vanguard both have excellent and often funny dances.

Guild Wars dancing emotes have to be my favourite. Not only do you have class specific dances but you can also co-ordinate them with other players.

TBH EQ2 has a huge number of emote actions programmed in.....such a shame most of them are embarrassing to watch. I little imagination goes a long way.

The mime that they did the motion capture off of should be shot... wait... that's probably where they got he heart attack one from. Cheesy is how I would describe most of the emotes... What would be better is a list of move that you can string together, sidestep/sway/spin/shimmy/counter-spin/sidestep/half-flourish possibly even throw in some ballet moves/

I have sent my fair share of /feedbacks about dances; what I'd like to see is sort of like how macros are set up now- have a seperate tab in knowledge book with a ton of dance moves, and a new tab in the macros for dances only which perform the whole macro in sequence from beginning to end, allowing the player to make any sort of dance they feel, at any length.
