Hello, I was killing some scarecrows in antonica and a buch of gobly-[Removed for Content] came up, like I didn't understand the language. I've seen that before in Qeynos and I just needed to find the book to learn the language. I've also done a few other language quests too. I looked it up on Allah and couldn't find a language quest for scarecrows. Is their language classified as something else?

Another question about city tasks. I missed a few of the level 10 quests. If I mentor to a level 10, can I obtain these tasks and complete them? Edit: Or is there even a point to do them, since my current level writs probably give more xp and status points.

This may sound really strange - but I seem to recall that Scarecrows speak Fairy (Not Faerlie), i.e. - the fairies in the peat bog or the ones in Enchanted Lands, also the sirens in Thundering Stepps. They drop the "Fabric Patch" which upon examination gives you the language quest and then you just need to kill enough to get the required number of Fabric Patches to complete the quest.

Your chat box will say Soandso says sometihng in <Insert name of language here> you do not understand.

Scarecrows either speak Druazic (Words of Pure Magic) or Thulian (Puzzle Boxes off Lizardmen) if I remember right

Yeah they speak Thulian so you gotta go and farm some lizardmen to get the language quest drops.

Generally if there is not a species specific language, mobs speak the 'common' language from whichever plane they originate.

Djinn have their own language, so do Nagga, but they both originate from the Plane of Air... Lizzardmen hail from the Plane of Fear (as does the scarecrow mobs) and but don't have exclusive laugages, so they all speak Thulian.

Samhains are. Scarecrows are just devices created to help farmers keep away pests. They only speak Thulian because they're suppose to SCARE you.

Whatever you know what I meant dingus...

Fine... the "scarecrow" was made by a Farmer, the evil power that brought them to life, controls them (did you do the halloween event and get that lore?) is certainly linked to the plane of fear.

Further more, I will bet you 1 plat that when/if they add the plane of fear, "scarecrows" will indeed be a mob type there and I wouldn't be shocked to see a named instance with a boss mob scarecrow.

As for what language they speak its NOT Thullian I know that for a fact because the Scarecrow language was the 2nd Language my 55 Illuionist Learned(was my first main and lvled on them when they where heroic), and as I know she did not speak lizzardman when she went to Feerrot then unless they changed it(wich is totally possable last time I lvled on those it was befor DoF), scarecrow is not Thullian.

The scarecrows *ALWAYS* used the exact same font language as the Lizardmen in the Feerrot. Look up the font database on your computer, you'll see Thulian language there, and the font looks like various scratchings and stuff. The Scarecrows use those. Then the moment I learned the Lizardman language, I was able to understand the scarecrows.

I know at least the scarecrows in Antonica speak Druizic. Others might speak a different language but the ones in Antonica are druizic.

Its easily decided.

Go to Antonica. hit a scarecrow. When he talks to you, your chat screen will say a scarecrow say in (whatever language), "blah blah blah." Pretty easy debate here.
