I've had the same issue. Unable to use guild chat for a long time now. It's the only thing I really liked about the extras anyway.

My guild chat works most of the time, on a 98SE machine with Firefox. Network connection behind a firewall at work makes it a little intermittent. I had trouble a couple of times after some changes appeared on the website. Since the Guild Chat uses JavaScript to run, I loaded the newest JavaScript version and the problem went away. Even when it is being intermittent, it shows who is online, indicating it has made the connection. Just a suggestion, reloading JavaScript helped me. PS: Just tried guild chat on a XP with Firefox, same network connection. Worked, at least it connected and shows all the online users. My guild is not very chatty durring the day so no text chat going on at the moment. So at least it is not a limitation of the operating system. Also worked using IE under XP. Did note Guild Chat also uses Flash player to display some of the data (ie. the list of who is online). You might want check latest version (9 for XP using either IE or Firefox).

You think we're being annoying continually updating this post? Try paying for something that doesn't work and apparently having no-one from SOE care about it. This is NOT an isolated issue and while I accept that maybe SOE are unable to replicate the symptoms, fact is I have been pestering on this issue for over a year and NOT ONE SOE rep has been in touch to discuss the details of the issues I (and many others) are seeing.

Without SOE personnel names, this is my story with the guild chat: I had the same problem (error 408-2) started in august last year. After a few weeks I wrote a support ticket, the GM wanted me to write to guild support which was not working at all. Then I did a /petition as I was asked. A GM there confirmed that the web chat was not working at all for the Runnyeye server. A few weeks later I had a chat with an other GM who suggested to ask for technical support and ask for a specified TSR. He confirmed again that the guild chat problem is on SOE side and closed my support ticket to not get weekly(!) mails about it. A few weeks after the eq2players downgrade (some called it a revamp) at the end of the subscription period I stopped paying for this "feature". And it seems it's still not working...

This issue has been ignored for well over a year now. Ha! made you reply to it though! Whilst we are on the subject of replying... any reason why you ignored a PM I sent to you? hhmmm I going for the excuse of "<i>Because I don't give a crap</i>! However at least Grimwell has responded twice about the guild chat feature not working! Perhaps Jabru you could go visit him and "LEARN" something from him. PS. do you have an update on the guild chat SOE-Jabru wrote: <blockquote><cite>MDKUK wrote:</cite><blockquote>I wonder if were allowed to bump these threads? </blockquote> From the Forum Code of Conduct: <p>Furthermore, you may <b>NOT</b>: </p> <ul> <li>Make multiple posts on the same subject for the purpose of getting attention paid to your issue.</li></ul> Please refrain from creating 5 topics on this issue and bumping them all. </blockquote>
