Personally I have 4 hotbars up all the time. If you're trying to combine commands, so that you can cast 2 spells or do 2 things with one button push, this guide may help. (That's the same info ScottAdams mentioned in his post above, but the thread he linked has an old URL in it to the old forums so doesn't seem to be working any more.) I use this for simple things like combining a warning message with a spell cast, or trying several types of abilities in one button. A simple example: /gsay Look out! I'm about to cast Fusion! /useability Fusion This will say to my group "Look out! I'm about to cast Fusion!" and will then cast Fusion on whatever I have targetted. This is handy because it warns the tank that he'd probably better have a taunt ready in case I draw aggro ... and warns the healer that he may need to have a rez spell ready if the tank isn't fast enough! A longer example: : ; target_nearest_npc ; useab Foresting ; useab Mining : ; target_nearest_npc ; useab Gathering ; useab Trapping : ; target_nearest_npc ; useab Collecting ; useab Fishing This targests the nearest non-player, which may be a monster or may be a harvestable or collectible - anything targetable that isn't another player. Then it tries to use my Foresting, Mining, Gathering, Trapping, Collecting, and Fishing abilities on the thing I have targetted. If it's a harvestable node or a collectible, one of them will work and I'll do a harvest. Using this one button, I can just run around in an area pressing the one button over and over to harvest everything, without having to constantly press different buttons, or double-click the node. Here's how it would look typed into the macro window (the ends of the lines aren't displayed as the window's not wide enough): One thing to be aware of however is that you can't queue up a whole long line of abilities all together. (The only reason the above harvesting macro works with 6 abilities is that 5 of them actually fail -- for example if it's a wood harvest node that I target, then Trapping, Gathering, Mining, Collecting, and Fishing will all fail saying "you cannot use that ability on that target" and the only one that actually succeeds is Foresting.) You are limited to two spells per macro, if you try to put three or more in, the game will skip one. This is because you can only have one spell queuing at a time. While the first spell is still casting, the macro can queue the second one up, but then if a third spell is in the macro while the first spell is STILL casting, it will forget about the second spell and the third will end up queuing and casting after the first finishes. The only way you can slip in three spells or abilities into a macro is if they cast instantly - for example the Heroic Opportunity trigger is instant, so you can use it, then follow it with two more spells/abilities. And there's no way to put a pause in a macro (intentionally I think, to prevent AFK macro botting). There's a lot more information in the thread I linked so hopefully that will help you figure out whatever it is you want to do, or if you can explain exactly what you want to macro perhaps one of the clever folks around here can figure out how.
