View Full Version : Reach And Hotbar Icons Not indicating correct range.
I currently use the latest ProfitUI and have found a problem with the hotbar icons on at least 1 combat art (Cheap Shot). The problem is this... with reach, cheap shot should be a 10 meter range. If you examine the Combat Art, it says 10m. The problem is the HotBar icon has a red tint until you are within 5m at which point the red tint is removed and the icon is "activated" and clickable. Can anyone who uses the default UI confirm this? My fiance plays an Inquisitor, and it seems like her battle priest icons have the same issue for nukes that are changed into combat arts. It seems like a broken game mechanic that affects more classes than just swashbucklers. I assume the templar's and inquisitor's extended spell reach lines are broke also. Alas, that's for a different forum, but imo is a related issue.

I have the same issue with a couple of CAs but I don't recall which specifically. Also, the ranged auto attack icon stays red until you are within the default range of the weapon and doesn't take into account the 20% range increase. I think those were the inconsistencies I noticed. I'll check again next time I play. I also use Profit, but the color of the icons is not a profit thing. This almost reminds me of when you get a mob in the floor and all your icons are deep red but they still work. Would be nice to get this fixed as well.
It would be very nice to have some kind of visual indicator that we're within melee range also... like you get for ranged attack or for combat arts... of course provided that worked properly too... lol
Speaking of melee... what is the actual range of melee with reach in meters? Is it 2m? 5m? I know some mobs have a much smaller range than you would think (drakes in labs), and sometimes have a much much bigger range than you would think...

I back up until arctic blast lights up then I know I am at a good range. What would be really cool is that if Combat arts didn't automatically switch to melee attacks. Since my combat arts are 15m now, I would like to stand at that distance and have it stay in ranged auto attack for some AoE fights.

I never said that the combat arts don't work at correct range... just that the hotbar icon doesn't "un-tint" at the correct range after you get reach. It seems to be activating on the original range (ie 5m for Cheap Shot). I'll double check it tonight...

Do you have a custom UI? That might be the culprit. I don't, and they light up at the right ranges for me.

I currently have Profit Reborn 3.1.1 and it looks like it was last updated on 2.28.2007. If that's the issue, then that rocks. I will look into it more and report back what I find.
