At one point there used to be a working newsfeed for the EQ2Players site, and there was instructions on how to access it. Over time, those instructions got buried, and with the recent "revamping" of the EQ2Players site, those instructions have disappeared entirely (the KB doesn't know the term "newsfeed" and even the Google cache of the pages is expired).However, the newsfeed itself (<a href="http://eq2players.station.sony.com/newsfeed/javascript.vm?target=_eqII" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://eq2players.station.sony.com/...vm?target=_eqII</a>) still limps along. Undoubtedly, the server was walled up in some SoE cellar somewhere, much like poor Fortunado was in "The Cask of Amontillado". Not unlike the hapless victim's corpse undoubtledly experienced, the newsfeed is showing signs of serious decay:All references to the newsfeed are missing. Only those of us who knew about it and are using it can find it.The newsfeed is no longer picking up news for the News or Development sections.The feed is outputting invalid HTML (note the extra closing , which has no opening tag).In the past, the newsfeed would put line breaks inside of string constants, causing a fatal exception when the JavaScript was executed. That problem was probably fixed, but there were so many problems with the code being output by the newsfeed, I ended up writing a parser to thoroughly scrub the code. I haven't yet rewritten the parser the expunge the now-useless Development section, just because the whole thing is now in such an advanced state of decay, it's lost nearly all its value.Are there any plans to fix the newsfeed, or offer a proper RSS feed?
