hi Ive decided to return and try EQ2 again after a break of around 18 months , ive logged in to one of my old characters and theres obviously lots of changes. i played EQ for 5-6 years and WoW on and off for the last 2 so i m not new to MMORPG and i have a coupe of questions :- didnt i used to have 8 characters (only have 6 now) ? i am on the Runneye server , is there a low to mid level population on this server ? i m going to be playing casual maybe 2-3 hours a time 2-3 times per week so will solo mostly , so i m looking for a class to play , necro is the obvious choice but nah.......... monk / bruiser maybe, any thoughts ? oh yeah in the intro movie theres a troll dual wielding swords - which class would he be ? i assume berserker thanks for any advice

You can have 10 toons with the station access, or 6 with regular. Solo gameplay has become more valid over the past 18 months. The few most equipped for it would be: SK, summoner, brawler and enchanter. People will fill this up with every class in the game. By what I've heard of the RE server, its healthy and fine. And, A LOT changed. Mostly for the better as well, so expect to have to relearn playing the game. ATM we have only one major bug, and they are working on it. Stuff tends to take way tolong to render in certain zones. You'll run into it. Other than that, perfect game.

<p>hi again</p><p>ok well i made a dark elf necro also and liked it a lot so i m going to stick with him, i have played a lot over weekend and hes now 26 </p><p>i am  downloading the latest expansion atm.</p><p>couple new questions :-</p><p>where do i get spell upgrades apart from the brokers who dont seem to have what i need (adept 3 or above for the tank pet is my main priority)</p><p>should i do the AQs in fallen gate or is there better or equal gear soloable elsewhere ?</p><p>thanks again for any advice</p>

You can buy App 2 from your mage trainer (I assume in the Academy of Arcane Sciences). If you want a adept 3, go out hand harvest from "stone" nodes for rares (or buy them on a broker) and ask a Sage (tradeskill) to make you the adept 3 version of the spell you want. I think mages use the rare metals and priests use the rare gems from the "stone" nodes. Also, with the high number of players there are a lot of tradeskill workers out there (not sure on your server since thats not the one I play on) The AQs give armor <i>about</i> equal to Handcrafted (this is armor made from common materials). But if you want better, you can obtain Mastercrafted (made from rare materials). Its soloable per say since you have to go around harvesting (assuming you dont want to buy them from borker). <p>The level 20 Armor Quests yield pieces that are slightly better than handcrafted, but not by a whole lot.  Still, it's decent stuff.  On my coercer I actually wore the AQ robe until 50 becuz it wasn't significantly worse than anything I could easily get up until then either, and I thought it looked pretty nice, so I was willing to live with it not being "the best" up until then.  Of course at 50 I swapped to the Keeper's Robe of Quiescence. . .  .</p><p>But anyway. . . it's decent stuff, and the quests are largely soloable anymore, though you'll still need help at certain points.</p><p>For your mage to get an Adept 3, you do need the "soft metal" rare.  In 10-19 it's Silver Cluster, in 20-29 it's Palladium Cluster, and once you hit 30-39 it will be Ruthenium Cluster.  It's generally easier and cheaper to find or buy the rare and then have a Sage make it than buying a pre-made one off the broker.  If you have a guild, there will probably be a sage or 2 in there willing to do it for you for just a little over fuel cost, so it's generally not really expensive then.  Other than the rare if you choose to buy it, anyway. . . </p>

Although I don't have a sage I know someone who can help.</p><p>If you on sent one of me alts a  tell and ill see what I can do for ya in regards to the spells. 1 other thing you might look at doing is getting yourself in a casual guild, they usually have a few tradeskillers on. <p>Welcome back, unfortunatly Necro has just about the most expencive spells in game, so I would recomend harvesting for these as much as you can. The importaint spells such as your Pet and your Pet heals can easily go for over a Plat each (at lvl 20 for Adept 3/Master), and go up from there, thats not to say that other classes don't have lots of costs too (poisions and arrows get expencive and tanks MUST upgrade there armor atleast ever 10 lvls if not more often).</p>
