Hi,

My wife and I wanted to make some alt's. We already have a nice duo with a wizard and a paladin it works great.

Now she wants to make: a Conjurer, an Illusionist and a Swashbuckler

and I want to make : a Warden, a Templar and a Mystic.

So was wondering if you guys had any good advice of which ones we should pair with eachother? Like would the swashbuckler be better with the warden or the templar and so on.

Thanks in advance

Hmm ... well, the only one of those classes I've personally played is the illusionist. I would think that you could make any of those combos work fine - you've picked 3 healers, and healers go with anything! My main concern would be that with your wife playing the illusionist, and the healers you listed being all quite low damage, the illusionist+healer combo could be a bit slow going. If I had to mix and match into pairs I think I would pick:

Swashbuckler + mystic (because the mystic's wards tend to work well with avoidance types - I know they go great with monk/bruiser type tanks and I would assume they'd also be good for a scout tank)

Conjuror/templar (the conjuror's pet will do the tanking here, or the templar could tank and the conjuror could use a high damage pet. I'd pair the templar with the conjuror because templars tend to be very low damage, and the conjuror has good damage output to match with that)

Illusionist/warden (this is the pair I'm least sure about, as mentioned this would be a lower damage pair and could be slow going. I'd suggest considering fury instead of warden, then you'd probably have quite a nice pair, the illusionist's pet can tank and the fury can do good damage. Not that a warden wouldn't work but I think the fights would be slower.)

Really though any pair of those should be quite doable. By the way, I highly recommend dirge and bruiser too!

Some of the combos that we have tried and been successful with are:

Conjurer and Necro (dual pets = very fun )

Conjurer and Templar (or any healer, really - templar is just his favorite)

Berserker and Fury (INCREDIBLY powerful combination. We have lived through encounters that would have lain our other characters flat in about 20 seconds many times over).

Monk and Templar (lots of fun with this combo)

And I have personally two-boxed a Monk and Fury - which is also a really nice combination in my opinion.

You might have to try a few combinations before you find one that you really like.

What I would recommend is whatever account you choose to make the healer on should be the opposite one as the paladin. It doesn't matter who plays the paladin. You can log on each others accounts. But when your alts get higher level it will be very handy to be able to pair the tank up with the healer at times.

As for your original inquiry I would say any of the healers would pair about about equally well with any of your wife's dps choices. Perhaps going with the warden/conj would be a good choice just since both use the same types of nukes and so any debuffs you guys have would benefit both. Just one thing to think about.

Berserker with Agitate (+str/agi and dps/haste proc) combined with solid healing or dps support is great. Plus fury group invis is very handy for the duo. Plus they both have solid hp regen buffs that stack nicely. Just everything about this pair works well together. AE damage, single target damage, burst damage, sustained damage, solid tanking, solid healing, good utility, etc. Just the total package there. I'm not trying to twist the OP into something he's not interested in. The choices you guys want are all solid. Just throwing this out there for anyone else curious on the strongest duo.
