View Full Version : Where is everybody?

I love EQ2. I do not want to leave. I will stick it out as long as I possibly can. But where has everybody gone? I used to log in at peak UK times to AB and find groups easily. I love grouping. But it is very difficult to find groups now. Even the number of chat messages LFG or LFM have dropped dramatically. I know Vanguard and Burning Crusades have just come out. Perhaps thats where everyone is. I am sure they will come back. But there are other MMOs in the pipeline to be released in the near future. Will the same not happen again and again? I am worried. I want EQ2 to continue being popular and well populated. I want to keep playing it. But when I spend a significant amount of effort trying to find groups and am not fruitful... I dunno. Tell me its not all that bad please? Tell me things will get better?

UK times? Come to a UK server I think a few people have been doing it, I don't have much problem finding groups for my alts on Runnyeye.

I find myself playing Vanguard more and more just because it's more fun....I have tons of stuff to do other than just log on, talk to guildies and play the broker or..../yawn....farm stuff.

The funny thing is that I predicted this a long time ago before EoF was released. I said that, because most of the population is maxed at 70, not adding a level cap increase that takes a long time to achieve will cause people to find themselves bored to tears within a couple months of EoF release because there just wasn't that much for a maxed 70 to do other than get some more AA's which can be done quite easily. And, sadly, this is exactly what has happened....a damned shame imho.

I tend to agree. I am seeing less of a population espcially in the 40s and 50s. Yes most people are maxed at 70 so only lower lvl alts get played sparringly (and usually with people they already know ie guildmates)....so pick up grps are tough to find. Either find an active guild to join or join the UK server (i think there is one)

Ive seen a similar doom and gloom omg eq2 is dying thread, but I agree that once the Wow expansion starts to bore people (and im sure it will eventually) and Vanguard loses the not-so-hardcore gamers, we'll see an increase in population again.

I have no problem finding a group with any of my characters. The only exception to that is that im not going to spend 6-8 hours in a dungeon (Unrest) trying to clear it all. Most people lv 70 are wanting to do that zone atm. I just bought the only item i really cared about from that zone from someone else (bag of broken cogs), so it no longer interests me. I'd like to do it someday, but it'll have to be on a saturday when I have nothing else to do, and start right after brunch and play till almost dinner.

4-4 1/2 hours for unrest definitely not 6-8 and even that will get cut down in time.

4 1/2 hours eh? Not from what Ive been reading in others posts.

I was in there for about an hour the other night and the group had only made it to the bar...when the tank went LD and never came back /sigh.

So what will it be next month when people leave because of the price increase and LOTR ONLINE release.... lets try the truth...people are bored with the lack of new content, the broken and incomplete content, the nerfs and mechanics changes, and the general direction this game is headed...

Meh.. have written volumes when replying to all these "Omg.. the entire population has vanished!" threads. I have no problems finding groups in and out of my guild. I'm still confused why people have such a problem making friends in game. Perhaps it has nothing to do with expansion releases and new games out there and something more to do with people's social skills. XD

Yes that explains the server population issue..it's only those without social skills that can see the population decline....it's our super power....

There is already another "where is everybody?" type thread here, so I am going to go ahead and close this thread.
