Is this a single group instance? The one time I attempted it, we went in with 5 moderate-to-good geared players, all around 55. We could barely get the mobs in the courtyard down to 50% health before getting creamed.

Were we 7 players too short? The mobs were only ^^^ Heroics, but I can't really see a single group of anything but top-end raiders being able to handle them. Is this an x2 instance?

I went in with a non-fabled trio levels 53-56 thinking we would do well in there since the entry mobs were level 52/53. The dogs in the courtyard were no problem and about what we expected. . . but that all changed once we engaged the first golem.

While no one died it was such a long fight that we basically felt if there were any more golems like that we might as well pack it up since we would be here all night -- just to clear trash mobs! The golems did not hit very hard but I think someone misplaced a decimal point when setting the number of hit points; meaning they had 10x the number of hit points we expected. Our trio lacks serious DPS (SK+Dirge+Inq), so that made the situation worse, but it was like fighting a raid mob.

When we encountered the second golem and discovered it had the same crazy amount of hit points we just evacced mid-fight, zoned out and said "no point in coming back here."

Its a "single group raid zone" designed for uber groups. Other examples include nek 3, nizara and icespire summit. The encounters are of a strength that used to be labelled epics before they changed the label convention - traditionally pairs of ^^^s etc. Crowd control tends to make these zones a lot easier, as a single group can handle just about any single ^^^ without too many problems if it cons below them.

Worth taking a full group tho...

If you have the dps, the golems are just PITA mobs to fight.

You get AP exp in here. It is the only place where you can get a blacksmith hammer with + to metalshaping or some other smithy mod that I can't remember right now.

Fighting Everling is a challenge too that I figured out how to fight him with just a paladin, fury, and some other fighter/melee dps class when others in the group left (this was over a year ago).

I had the same thoughts when I arrived there to 3 box and killing that Golem felt like killing Emperor Fysk. I quickly ported out but would love to hit it again sometime. Do the mobs respawn, or just the courtyard dogs?
