We game players tend to be really good at loudly grumbling when something is changed in a game and we don't like it, and we're definitely really good at telling devs what they should be fixing/changing. What we really stink at it saying thank you when something positive is done for us.

So, I want to take the opportunity to thank you, Ilucide.

I was a new player just a few months ago, and the first toon I played coming out the gate was a Ranger with the tradeskill of woodworker. Ammo, which is kinda important to that class, had me very confused. I asked in the channels in game about the different types of ammo, multiple times, and the best answer I ever got was "trust me, crafted ones are better, make or buy your own." But even then, the only answer I could get regarding the different types of arrows crafted was "they do different types of damage, but I don't think it really matters, use whichever." I didn't find any better answers online, despite extensive searching in EQ2 forums and other fan sites. Just alot of vague guesses and assumptions and theories.

Then my next toon, which I really enjoyed playing, so started to play more, was my monk... this time I had the dilemma of wondering "Shurikens, or throwing daggers? maybe throwing axes? hammers?" ... got the same results trying to get information on these as I did with arrows.

At the end of it all, I pretty much just started using the best store bought ones I could equip, because I had no clue what the differences where, and crafting ammo fast enough to keep up with my usage was way too time consuming anyway.

So, thanks for making it so I can examine ammo and KNOW what the differences are, and thanks for making it so woodworkers make enough ammo per combine that it is actually worth me taking the time to make my own ammo. Thank you, very, very much.

I also appreciate the change to the tinkered tools; I do all 9 craft skills at the moment, and just recently entered into tier IV with all 9 of 'em. It bothered me a little bit that the tools for each of these crafts has a different level requirement. Surely didn't make a lot of sense. I imagine for someone who does the crafting and isn't doing all 9....being one of the professions with the highest level requirement seemed pretty unfair! So, thank you for fixing this disparity as well and making the requirements for these all the same level!

And, lastly...I'm an altoholic, and though for adventuring I've so far pretty much just focussed on one toon, the change to the tinkered harvesting tools that uses craft level rather than adventure level is very nice for the 8 other toons I have currently crafting away into T4 that haven't adventured at all yet. Once they do, it will be nice to know the harvest tools I get to use out in the big bad world will be nicer because of the time I've invested in their crafting. So thank you for this change as well, especially in regards to the fact that the 3 different levels of these tools are no consistent, instead of one type using crafting level and the other 2 using adventuring...that confused the heck out of me at first til I looked into it and understood the fact they weren't using the same.

So, in closing, some things happened in the last update that I do appreciate. After posting this, I'll likely go back to telling you what should have been done different in the update, and what was done wrong, and nitpicking on the work of yourself and all the devs, along with everyone else on the boards. But I wanted you to know that I know you work hard, and you want to help, and that I do appreciate the good work that you (and the other devs) have done.

Sincerely,

A happy player (despite the fact I don't always sound that way)

Thank you from me too. I too was using store bought ammo becuase it was much simpler to get, and there were no obvious benefits to crafted. But I also want to thank you for all the little changes you have made. Many were issues that were reported months ago, but not touched. It has made me fell a lot better about tradeskilling, and I have done more in the last month than in any month since LU24. The impression I had got was that the EQ2 devs as a whole didn't care about tradeskilling and could not be bothered even to fix the little things. For Illucide I get the impression that he cares enough even to fix the little things, which makes me much more optimistic about traskilling, making doing it more fun.
