Ok I am level 70 trying to get into the part of wailing caves that this mob is in. From what I have been able to find out I need a key that drops from a named level 17 mob and only from a chest. So not only am I camping grey names, I have to find someone to mentor to make it green. Not only that the named doesnt drop the key every time. This is just silly. yazie/doloris

Seems Sony couldn't find a way to make this quest challenging, so they went with time sinks.

Pathetic.

Can't wait to see what we get to camp next. What's the next least used lowbie zone?

I believe I know the area of the Wailing Caves you're talking about, and unless they've changed things since the last time I've been there (which has, granted, been quite a while) you can still get the key for that door, even if the mob is grey.

/yawn.... long boring camp for a key dropped by a lvl 17 named to get to a lvl 20 raid area for a lvl 60 quest.... pretty lame. something should be fixed here.

it is odd that it said "Solo" on quest journal when it required to have 2 groups to get access? must have been typo or SOE got sick and twisted?

In regards to The Wailing Caves:

I did this about a week ago with my 23 Paladin and a 23 healer before LU 32 came out. We killed Advisor Kre'lak which opens the door behind him. We then went down the steps and killed the Raid Leader and Kyllik the Fated named mobs. We then went to the door to Ree's room and it let us in. It was a tough fight, but the two of us managed to do the event and kill Ree.

There are no keys that I remember and Ree's Chamber was certainly not a raid zone. The Wailing Caves was revamped some months back and a lot of the info on the fan sites are way out of date for it.

You do need a key from the Iksar (Kyrllik the Fated). When you kill him, key pops into your inventory.

This allows you to open the door to Lord Ree - provided he is up. He does have a respawn time, I know - I just sat out there for a few hours waiting to get in. Fun stuff, not.

Doesn't work like this. We have [a large orcish key] and Lord Ree is up (on track), but door is still locked. Seems you have to kill the iksar to trigger the door...

I did this one solo last night on LDL. Killed Kylic the Fated but never got a key in my inventory. The door opened anyway. Lord Ree was a 18 triple up heroic with some minions. Stealth changes?

You do not need the key from the iksar. At least I didn't.

I went to the WC, killed the orc by the throne to open the secret door behind him.

Went down to the bottom and clicked on the expedition notes (the harvestable items) in the room the iksar is in, and the room in front of his. Never killed another mob until I ran to Lord Ree's room. Clicked on his door, went inside and killed the mobs for my update.

Took all of 10 minutes and the only mob I killed before Lord Ree's room was the orc by the throne upstairs.
