Ok I am really upset about this letter stating my station access subscription is increasing $6 more a month.
Now here are the reasons why.
1) I pay to have access to games hence why I pay $24.99 so in turn you add a crapy game called Vanguard then turn around and decided to charge me to play a game I will never ever in a cold day in hell play. After I have already agreed to pay $24.99 So bascially it is not a Station Access it like paying $6.00 a month to play games so I think if there is no way in hell I would ever pay to play Vanguard then why in the hell should I get that increase? Because you made a game that should not have ever been made so you can recoup your monies? In turn we have to be forced to pay for your mistakes?
2) The reason I pay for the access is because I also play with my husband and in order to keep some cost down of paying for the expanison etc it was cheaper then comming upfront with the cost. I do not play any other games you make. You ruined Swg and ruined Vanguard, which I know Sigil made that mess.
But I will say it again!
I don't think it is fair and right to force the customers to pay for your mistakes.
I know it won't matter much but I have canceled my husbands and I accounts I do not like to be lied to nor do I like the fact that at each game you will add you will increase my subscribtions.
Makes no sence as to why you even have a Station Access Account. Here is a copy of the letter:

Dear Station AccessTM Subscriber,
We want to give you some important information regarding your Station Access subscription. Effective April 2, 2007, the new monthly subscription rate will be US$29.99 per month (not including applicable taxes).
We know that rate adjustments are never popular, but the increase is driven by our desire to provide our Station Access subscribers with a consistently high quality entertainment experience, as evidenced by our most recent addition to the Station Access subscription plan, Vanguard: Saga of HeroesTM.
You don't have to do a thing; you will automatically be migrated to the new monthly subscription rate under your existing subscription plan when your current subscription plan comes up for renewal on or after April 2, 2007. We appreciate your support and continued participation in our community.
Station Access subscriptions are recurring, meaning you will continue to be billed at the appropriate subscription interval, until you affirmatively cancel your subscription. Subscription fees are subject to tax and value-added tax, as applicable. The subscription charges are in addition to the cost of the games that are part of the Station Access subscription plan. All game software is sold separately.
For more information, please visit: http://www.stationaccess.com/.

Although I'm not sure what you mean by it keeping expansion costs down (since really all they give you is adventure packs), I also cancelled my access pass. I only had it for extra character slots and it's not worth it anymore. Some alts died tonight

What I meant is this. Everyone has to pay at the start for the game so that was when it was new $49.99 x 2 = $98.40 We did not like the game when it first came out and we did not come back till November 2006. So we had to buy Echoes of Fayedor @ $39.99x2= $79.98 Kingdom of Sky @ 29x2 =$59.98 Dessert of Flames @ 29.99 x2= $59.98 So to restart the game at that time was $199.94 And we did not include the little expansions @ $20.97 x2 =$41.94. So in order to buff some cost we decided if they would have future expansions and if we could save the other $42 bucks it was a better deal for us. The station access was a way to buffer that up front cost and forgo any future cost. So now I have to either shell out the extra $41 so I can cancel the access pass. Which would have been fine and dandy but don’t tell me your having an increase on the pass due to the fact you added another game. What the hell is that? That is why I originally signed up for the access pass so if things were added then I would have my original price. And not have to worry about it.

This is not meant to be a flame of any sort, so I hope you don't take it that way... But I think you're being unreasonable here. Costs for things like this go up all the time. Station Access's main selling point is that you can play a bunch of games--not that you can save up front costs of starting up EQ2... If you don't play those games, then it's probably not in your best interest to get Station Access. Personally, I think you made a bad choice signing up for SA just to "buffer" the $42 initial cost. 2 accounts even at $24.99 instead of $14.99 each is an extra $20 per month in fees. You buffered for the initial 2 months in exchange for the privilege of paying an extra $20 per month after that for services which you had no intention of using in the first place. Maybe this subscription price increase is a good chance for you to cut your losses. But, again, I disagree with you and think that SoE has the right to make price adjustments. We shouldn't be surprised or upset when they (hopefully not often) raise subscription prices--especially when they add substantial additional content to that service. Just my 2 coppers... for what it's worth. Nihyn -- Guk

ok, to start with, the Station Access does NOT give you access to the expansions, only the little 4.99/7.99 adventure packs. You still have to buy any expansions to have them.

Secondly, I was considering adding this to get Vanguard, but I will not now, since the only game I would consider to add is vanguard and with the multimonth pricing sets, I can get the two accounts for cheaper than I can for the only single month pricing of the SA...

Congratulations on losing a sale?

I have 3 accounts atm, only 1 has all access, mainly for the extra character slots as I dun play any of the other games that come with, and I have no plans of changing that. At present price, I considered it a somewhat acceptable price adjustment compaired to normal subscription, as I did get more slots and I was able to play other games if I wanted. Last time they raised cost of all access I decided to keep it, but not this time. Those slots are not worth the jump from $14.99 to $29.99. Ill have to buy the adventure packs for that account now, but it'll still be way cheaper.

Bye bye All Access!

Cancelling Station Access seems to be a common theme today in threads.

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=349828

http://forums.station.sony.com/eq2/...topic_id=350155

Those are two more...makes me wonder what forum section the topic actually should be in?

Quite a few people are cancelling it, myself included. Everyone I know with SA is, actually. It's not just a "bit of an increase" it is a 50 percent increase. Base game price should be subtracted from what SA costs before figuring out the percent increase, because base game cost is NOT the actual cost of SA.

I can't think of many things where customers wouldn't have issues with a 50 percent increase in price, out of the blue. Particularly when you consider the value of SA has declined, not gone up. One of it's benefits was free access to adventure packs, but SOE has stated they don't plan to MAKE these anymore, and instead to focus on expansions and providing good game updates. So, SA has less value than it used to, but the price has gone up by what, 70 percent in the last year (this counts the previous increase as well)?

Additional games are not additional value from SA, as you can only play ONE game at a time...doesn't matter how many different ones that one monthly fee lets you play, you are only going to be logged into one of them at any given time. So, that's not added value, in my opinion.

Some people are rather upset about this. I'm really not, SOE can price however they want... it's their business. I just get to decide, as a customer, if it is worth it to me. SA no longer is.
