With the new arrow system in I was wondering what will be the best choice for arrows. Here they are posted from another thread; * makeshift adamantine arrow +67 piercing * adamantine fieldpoint arrow +74 crushing, +5 range, 50% hit bonus * adamantine bodkin arrow +111 piercing 10% hit bonus * adamantine broadhead arrow +148 slashing, -5 range, -50% hit bonus The fieldpoint arn't much better in damage but have a much greater chance of hitting someone. I find it harder to land hits then to get big hits more often then not. Bodkin on the other hand does have more damage plus the added hit %. Seeing as brawlers and anyone with high avoidance give the most trouble to scouts especially having our CA be on such long timers and mostly range its critical that we land our attacks. My choice would have to be the fieldpoint and maybe the bodkin arrows. As for broadhead the damage seems nice but if your not hitting anyone its kinda meaningless.

Yeah ... that 50% hit bonus might be a real advantage against certain PvP clases and higher level mobs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe our arrow has to successfully hit in order to proc poisons or quick shot. The extra range might be just enough to get in a quick, safe 'freebie' attack, too.

One side note - the damage modifiers are off my lvl 70 ranger with about 500 STR at the time I inspected the arrows. Those amount may be (thinking they probably are) scaled based on STR...I wasn't online long enough to test them. Could be much higher in a nice raid setup or even a well buffed group.

It certainly opens up more strategy in arrow selection than what I expected from reading about the changes in these forums. I fully expected to keep using my harvested arrows until I saw thse stats.

personally I use the bodkin because it has a +hit modifier without losing too much auto attack damage. Auto attack damage from my ranger is a lot of single target damage. With focus aim and Klling instinct your chances of missing are slim, except for brawlers, but then again you should be debuffing your opponent anyways. CA progression is key.
