I heard somewhere that Fury's had the ability to travel from zone to zone in some method other than by foot and that it was something they got at about lvl 25. I'm now lvl 27 and still on foot - Did I miss something or was my information incorrect?

I also heard that fury's didn't have to purchase horses that we got a summoning spell at some point. Was that misinformation or at what level does this occur or how do we go about making that happen (what quest etc.)?

Thanks for your help.

At level 25 you can get port spells that teleport you to the druid rings in Antonica, Commonlands, Butcherblock Mountains, Greater Fay, and Steamfont Mountains. The portal spells are quested for and not just given to you. Find the above mentioned druid rings and click on the shrub there for the quest.

Furies summoning a horse is misinformation. Crusaders(paladin/shadow knight) can summon a mount by buying their lvl 20 fun spell. No other class can summon a mount without first buying it or questing for it.

These questions have been asked and answered many times on the forums. I suggest using the search function up the top if you have any other questions.

For the port spells, that's already been covered. As far as not needing a horse. . . . it could be they are referring to the Spirit of the Wolf spell you got at level 13. Of that furies gan use AA's to get a permanent 45% runspeed boost without SoW. Without hearing the exact statement, though, I don't know what they're referring to right off.

No Summoning spell for mounts that I've ever seen, been playing a Fury since Dec 2004.

Yeah, they're probably thinking of the AA lines that allow you to get up to 45% in-combat run speed anytime, anywhere (50% with racial bonuses). 10% of that is permanent, another 35% comes from having your Predator buff up.

Thanks for the information - I'll go questing for the druid rings portal ability . Bummer about the mount - guess I'll have to buy one eventually like everyone else.

with pact of cheetah up every now and then you run at 95% for quite a while with an adept 3 and predator maxed to 35% - and dispell root. with sprint you are at 75% run speed. i really havent seen a huge need for a horse yet - but i havent seen alot of the higher end zones, only 47.

You can spend a few aa's and get 45% permanent self buff that works IN combat as well as out. Add sprint and/or pact and for a while you can be at 85% or even capped at 100%, but you want to pay 10 plat and status for a horse that goes 48% or 14 plat and status for one that does 50%?!?!?!?!?!

Whyever for? Is that 3 or 5% really worht that much to you?

I duo'd with a bard today, and with 5 aa in predator plus 4 in hierophants. . whatever it's called, I had 40% personal runspeed. The bard's Selo's was lower than that, so didn't increase me *but* the 12% increase from her "Allegro" aa skill did, so I was still up at 52% while with her.

But then I went and respecced to full Int line in the druid tree, so now I'm a "Stormcaller" and working to get my crit heals back. After I get my Animal Form and Energy Vortex. . . .

I've never understood the importance of in combat run speed buffs. It isn't as though we have any means of kiting so what is the point? If the fight is turning nasty and you need to bail, /yelling the encounter restores your speed buffs so...?

Well, run-speed is more awesome in pvp than pve, but I personally still find it useful versus mobs as well. For one, we can kite using wands, but it takes forever, just thought you should know (unless they ever make wands uncastable while running). Also, I like the fact that I don't have to waste money on a horse, and that I can run backwards in front of the best ones and laugh while I leave em in the dust .

It still added 12% to my runspeed.

This mostly comes into play in raids, but there are heroic fights where this is the case as well. Many epic and some heroic mobs have AOEs that require you to be at max casting range or further. For example, with high ICRS you can: - quickly get into correct healing range on a charge pull; - joust in and out of healing range to avoid an AOE with >20m range; - adjust rapidly to changes in mob or MT positioning; - joust in and out to fire off RoF or Brock's in between a mob's AOEs, or; - run like the wind if the pull goes pear-shaped. The last one rarely works in raids, but I have occasionally run off mobs with Pact up. Yelling is not always an option--most raid leaders turn on leader-only yelling, and there are some zones where it can't be done at all. Additionally, at 45% you can often outrun overworld mobs and train them even if you take a hit and get engaged, whereas on any kind of a mount you lose the mount's run speed boost the moment you get engaged in combat. Sure, you can yell them off, but if you're training through an area dense with mobs you will still lose time doing so, and have to keep targeting the mob you want to yell off when you pick up more than one encounter. It's better to not have to worry about doing so.

You don't normally engage combat unless you've proactively engaged. Even with procs when hit... unless thorns is still broken.

Even then, if you do pick up anything you don't have to target anything. Just target yourself and click Yell or type /y. You automatically break all encounters you've engaged when you target yourself and yell. Just don't do that when you are training to your friends.... it will break whatever they are fighting as well, heh.
