I am about to start playin a wizard amd I was wondering how good the enhanced Magi's shielding AA in the EoF tree was. Is it worth my first 10 aa's or is it a waste? I will probably be mostly solo with the occational group.

IMO that and the Ward of Sages AA are essential for a PvP server...between the 2 of those and other items that proc wards they can save your life in pvp fights. That said, I don't really think they are nearly as valuable on a blue server...if you are soloing and start taking hits, you are likely going to die reguardless, and in group/raid settings, as long as other people are doing their job maintaining agro on the MT you shouldn't be taking hits at all...so no, if I was on a blue server I'd definately spend those points into adding more DPS fron the fire/ice trees.

If you solo, get Magi's Shielding. True, we do solo with our roots, but you're going to get hit sometimes, especially if you're going after things that are a higher level than you. The added ward can give you the defensive edge you need in some fights. It also gives you some degree of defense against casters, which we ordinarily don't have in abundance.

While doing a search on the topic of the Magi shielding AA, I got rather confused by the information of a patch removing the regenerating properties of the ward. So a few question if there are any kind souls to help answer : Does Magi shielding and Ward of sages still regenerate over time, at 50% per tic? Does Magi shielding and Ward of sages block all damage types? Does Magi shielding and Ward of sages still stack? Thanks in advance!

I got it only because I wanted the ability to extend my reach with all my spells. The ward though has kept me alive in quite a few occasions, mainly in raid aoe situations. If it didn't regen what would be the point of a ward that you only used once?

I play on PVP, and had to take off Ward of Sages due to it putting me into combat when I try to escape those overwhelming odds. One hit and I'm stuck. Magi Shielding and Mail of Frost are good with 10 points each.

Nyarlath - 70 wizard

Venekor server

Ward of sages and magi shielding ward do stack, however ward of sages only wards against spell damage and magi shielding wards against all damage. I think that magi shielding regens 50% every 10 seconds or every tick not sure which and ward of sages regens 40% per tick.

Magi shielding is deff worth it at low levels as wizzy roots suck pretty bad and you will get hit often, however once you get 21 AAs in EoF repec to manaburn as it will make soloing way easier.

Personally I find that it's priceless for those emergency "omg, root broke and it's coming right FOR ME!" situations, and on occasion it helps me survive an epic AE that would have one-timed me. Applying it to the "just starting" scenario, I think it would be very worthwhile as your fist 10 AAs, I don't think you'll find too much use out of the other abilities that early on. Only reason I can see to respec'ing out of it later is if you want the DPS for raiding, if you're going to a true dps spec, it IS a waste of 10 AA... but really only under that particular circumstance.

I am specced almost totally raid dps and I have 3 points into the ability so that I could open up the enhance vital conversion( main health to power spell) with 5 points in that or 35% more power per casting ( stupid EoF mobs and thier power drains)
