Our offensive stance boosts crushing, piercing, slashing and ranged, but does not boost fists. Since we have an entire AA line dedicated to barefists, does that seem wrong to anyone else?

yeah I agree its kinda [Removed for Content] of them. thread related question: Do those skills determine hit chance? or is that based off of attack power?

I always thought crushing was our fist attack type.

Fists is definately crush, the reason you may have less + to crushing is because of your lack of weapons.

To my knowledge, the difference between both is the stats. With weapons, you are getting weapon + to crushing on top of the normal + to crushing having bare hands. So both brawlers will get a normal crushing amount initally, then weapon users will get added crushing stats with their weapons.

Considering str line users are getting AA abilities that enhance their damage rating, there has to be a trade-off, and stats from weapons is it, including the extra crush dmg.

If you look at it this way, a plate tank takes off his plate bp for a cloth bp and his avoidance goes up (this has since been changed but it is an example) but he loses out on other stats like mitigation. There is no difference in this scenario, there's always a trade off.

I'm not so sure about this, you know. Fist damage type is definitely crushing, yes, but I thought that we actually used our "fists" skill to calculate our chance to hit with bare fists, rather than our crushing skill. Otherwise, well, why have a "fists" skill? What would it actually do?

Bare fists works off crushing. You have a fist skill, because brawlers are the only class that can fight with fists to some degree. Other classes when they dont have a weapon, they hit for beans. When you ding, if your bare fists, you will notice that your damage automatically goes up. You automatically get 5 points, you dont have to work up fists. But if you have poor crushing skill, you will have very poor accuracy. You can check this by using /weaponstats. Xo

(Can you tell my bruiser is the only class I've ever played? ) Cheers for the info! mr23sgte : I just figured piercing and slashing were for those few fist weapons that did piercing and slashing damage. Took me flipping ages to level up my slashing with my Velium Claw. (I was 2H staffing at the time, so only switched to it for Eagle Claw). Then I went to Everfrost, found that mid-40s epic, switched to the claw and went AFK for half an hour...
