Hi Guys,

We are a two guild alliance who are missing some classes. We have been successfully raiding EOF for the past few months taking pick ups to fill the gaps. The only mob we have failed on is Tarinax as we were all quite tired by the time we got to him and were a little too confident after taking down Amorphous Drake on our first ever attempt. We are off to Freethinkers Hideout on Saturday to try and gauge if we are ready for EoF zones yet.

What advice would you give us before we venture out? I have asked people to bring poison, disease and Divine resist gear and have posted info taked from eq2raidmobs website on our forums for them to study. Any advice on raid setup. We currently have two Guardians kitted in most of the Doomrage stuff with adornments, 1 Shadowknight who is well kitted, 1 Paladin who is fully fabled with 9.5K HP self buffed. Is there any key classes we should have with us?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated

Muraha - 70 Berseker (Splitpaw)

An important item is that Zyphlax the Shredder (the guy who says "woops, did I drop that?" has been changed. No longer does he port the lowest on the aggro list to him, it would seem (through many painful wipes had by a friend) that EVERYONE who does not do 2k dmg between the AoE's will be ported to him, feared and dotted. So that means that all of your healers MUST do 2k dmg in the 20 seconds between his AoE's. And keep the tank up to boot. Makes the encounter that much more interesting, still doable (friend did it without a shammy, with 8 wipes), but requires a lot more organisation.

Ooh, I like that. Will make a change from Labs strat for which most of the mobs are like this.

Muraha says to the raid: "OK. Strategy is as follows. Tank pulls , we kill it."

btw, Steelbadger is me... but my post seems to have dissapeared... Strange. Anyway, when my friend did it last night (about 16 hours ago) he was porting everyone who did less than 2k damage to him. Maybe it was a bug? But it was happening and they did wipe a lot. I think I'm going there this evening, can double check then.

We did this guy the other day and he ported a couple people to him but not the healers and the healers weren't doing any damage. He appears to pick people to port randomly. Sometimes he gets stuck on someone though, ports them, they revive, he ports them again, kills them before they can buff. If that happens to you it's best to just remain dead for awhile, maybe for the rest of the fight.
