As a 70 Necro I am still using swarm of bats. Is it worth the cast time, or am I just wasting off my power? Any comments on this would be helpful, and thank you in-advanced on this topic.

It's a debuff also, don't forget that, IMO, if you can fit it in the rotation you should cast it. Sure other spells may help your parse numbers, but it's not always about pure dps.

Agree with the last poster. Swarm of Bats is a nice DoT at lower levels, but at higher levels it's used more as a Defense debuff with an incidental little DoT attached to it. I use it regularly at 70.

Strangely I was just thinking about this spell. Don't know about you other necros but I love my Swarm of Bats spell. I remember when I first got it way back in Bloodlines and seeing it's animation the first time I was like who this is a cool spell. I still keep it in my spell rotation to this day due to it having it's own recast timer and as was mentioned it's defense debuff more than the dot.

However what I'd really like to see and what I'd propose to the devs is making a new questline, maybe in Loping Plains and Castle Mistmoore, that would allow the upgrading to T7 of all the Bloodline spells/CAs. These were well thoughtout and unique abilities that shouldn't just be left at the lower tiers. I consider this a win/win, more quest content and a new unique reward in the form of a spell/ca upgrade. What do the rest of you think of this idea?

It shouldve been a scalable spell like splitpaw from day one. I think only one class (brawler i believe) got a non upgradeable version that scales due to how it works.

swarm of bats and soulsieve are both used regularly.
