Well i built my new computer. Intel Duo Core 6400, 2 gigs Corsair RAM, Nvidia XFX 8800GTX, 19" LCD monitor 1280x1024 75Mhz and I decided to play EQ2 again.

I have every setting to extreme quality in the game but see no option in game for AA settings. The game is out of this world with my new rig. But I still get jagged edges. Any of you have this type of setup and can tell me the best settings? What do you all recommend for this type of rig? I can't believe how awesome the graphics look with this 8800gtx. Any help will be appreciated.

Add r_aa_blit 1 To your eq2.ini file (you may need to make the file). Then make sure you set the AA and such in your Nvidia control panel and voila awesome Anti-aliasing.

I use the classic Nvidia control panel and I set the global settings to AA x4 and antisc x8. You can make individual profiles, but all I really play on my PC is EQ2 so the effort was lacking. I didn't edit any EQ2 files and all my lines are smooth and sexy now.

EQ2 wont use AA without that line its not physically enabled in the game without it. It has bloom/heat shimmer and such instead the two dont work together. 16x AF and 8Q AA for me its lovely aside from the horrible stuttering with particle effects and the 8800 many seem to experience.

This is great info! Thanks. I just bought an 8800 GTS 640 MB and everything is great but for combat. It's as bad if not worse than ever. Is this due to the bugs with spell/particle effects that are mentioned in this thread? Please say yes, as I'm looking forward to running everything at top quality some day.
