Digital Download from SoE of EoF does NOT include KoS or DoF, however there are online retailers that offer digital download of EoF and those do include KoS and DoF.

I've failed to find any other online retailers that off the EoF with KoS and DoF.

I'm baffled. I realize that SOE can do whatever they want, but this pricing scheme for boxed versus download completely eludes me. If I want to have all three expansions I can spend $40 for a box, printed material, DVD, etc. that required physical manufacture and shipping. Or I can spend $100 for a download. If their download servers and bandwidth are costing them this much, I want to buy stock in the company who's providing those machines and services.

Can anyone offer a plausible scenario that you think offers a legitimate business rationale for this? Other than, "Because we can," that is.

SOE has to keep the stores happy so they put little extras into the boxed version like the clockwork pet, the carnivorous plant etc. Shelf space in a store is important advertising-- most stores charge money for shelf placement. If you want to be on the end cap, that will cost you extra too. If a big chain tells SOE that they will only carry three of their games, it makes sense to sell an all-in-one version of EQ2. If you've read about the business of distribution and marketing and retail placement it's pretty clear why they have to do that. ke'la wrote:
Digital Download from SoE of EoF does NOT include KoS or DoF, however there are online retailers that offer digital download of EoF and those do include KoS and DoF.
I believe ke'la is talking about a store like: http://onlinecdkey.com/index/everqu...dkey-p-170.html They have boxed copies of the game but they will email you the serial number since that's all you need to start playing. If you want them to ship the box and DVDs you can ask them to do that too. Othesus - Dirge - Lucan DLere Vaspar - Fury - Lucan DLere
