Ok, I'm seeing in just about every post I've read that the mystic is a class that apparently the Devs hate becuase there always doing something to nerf it or make the most pathetic class in the game. Why is this? I've spent the last 2 years playing my mystic as my main char and I'm quite [Removed for Content] off about this. I'm at the point of no return here, I want so bad to delete this char becuase of how much it sucks but since I've invested so much time I just can't do it. Plus I would love to shove it in there [Removed for Content] face and make the best mystic I can just to despite them.

In grps If I have to try to keep the entire grp alive, GOOD LUCK... I can keep a single tank alive for a long time. We still die alot..!! As a developer myself if I see something that just isn't right I have an obligation to fix it. I have a 45 monk that stays alive longer then my healer. Just sad.

Questions:

1. How do we get them to fix this class?

2. Why could EQ devs let this happen, knowing how much we [Removed for Content] hate it?

Apparently, power of the people doesn't mean crap to them. They would rather us be [Removed for Content] off and disgusted then happy.

Sry for the rant... Just very digusted right now with the devs for letting this happen.

jb

We've been nerfed? (other than the sow thing /grumbles). The only other nerf that I remember affected both the druid classes as well ( took away our animal buff procs =( ) which they've now given back with the EOF aa line. There were some changes with the EOF combat thing but that happened to all classes so not a mystic killing nerf.

Our wards were broken for a long while (the no mitigation thing) but that has been fixed for a bit now.

It's entirely possible I completely missed it or have totally forgotten about it but I don't feel like a crappy useless class at all. I certainly don't feel broken.

I have huge amounts of trouble keeping a whole group alive if agro is bouncing all over the place due to how we heal best, but if agro is bouncing all over the place there is a problem other than my healing and it doesn't make my class suck. There are other healing classes that are better equipped to deal with that, but they have their weaknesses as well.

In a normal grouping situation, with typical agro bouncing (one or two mobs in an encounter trying to munch the wizard after a particularly good fusion) keeping people alive is not a problem. Even myself.

Is there something specific that really has tipped you over the edge?

I'm with Finora on this. I'm not sure exactly how we are broken and the OP doesn't make it clear what his/her perception of those problems may be. I don't have problems keeping a group alive (barring odd circumstances which would challenge any healing class.) Do we nuke like a fury? No. Can our dps be improved with EoF AAs? Yes. Can a fury stack the everloving heckofalotofhealpower on a single target like I can? No. Do I love having loads of our shaman AAs tied to a fragile dog? No. Are there decent alternatives to the dog? Yes. Would I like to see the MTs health go up as much when I'm in a group as when a defiler is? You bet. Do they still get a nice bump from our STA? Yep. Maybe the OPs issues are with PVP? I don't play at all on those servers so maybe we do suck badly as a class in PVP. Can't speak to it. In PVE I think we are generally fine. Although there was a mention of two years. Has PVP been around that long? Can't recall. I've generally concluded that the somewhat slow nature of the mystic boards (compared to the others I follow) is an indication that the class is in halfway decent shape. Perfect? Certainly not. But broken badly? I don't see that at all. Badly broken is what we were prior to LU13 when wards finally took mitigation into account. SoW? /meh Nice to have as much as possible but not in any way class defining or game breaking.

There are situations where it's hard to keep groups alive, but those are more difficult to come by these days. I have to disagree with OP on this and say there are have been some nerfs, but Mystics are still very a good class.

The issue with keeping a whole grp up when there's aggro on more than one person is a balance issue... think of how easily mystics (and defilers cuz it's a shaman balance thing not just a mystic balance thing) can keep 1 person standing because of the nature of wards.. now go take a look at the strongest group healers (druids), and ask just about any of them what their weak point as a healer is and I bet almost all of them will say it's spike damage because of the nature of regens. That's game balance for you (clerics fall somewhere in between wards and regens on this point) and it's most easily seen if you look at raids.. MT shammy goes down during a pull (or almost at any point in time depending on the mob/raid but it's especially bad on the pull), there is an extremely high chance that the MT is going to follow shortly after unless he's insanely well-geared (ie a well-established raid guild or player) regardless of the fact that there'd still be 2 main healers spamming heals on him ntm the healers in the other raid groups; that's just how powerful wards are, and for something as powerful as that, something that can mean the difference between a successful pull and a 1 or 2 shot a few seconds into the fight.. well there's got to be SOME weakness to it, and that's the reason why shammys in general have a more difficult time recovering multiple people from loose aggro and/or ae's.
