I had to reinstall from scratch but my 1st DVD had a pretty good scratch on it. I tried a disc doctor pass on it but it didn't work.

I was going to go out and buy a new copy but I was wondering if I could copy my friends DVD's and just use those. Replacment discs would probably take forever to get and I imagine I'd get charged $10 for it (something like that). Anyway, just wondering if the discs are copy protected or anything. I'd be happy with just a copy.

The key from my set is registered against my account of course. So, I'm not trying to get away with something under-handed. I just don't want to spend another $40 or wait for new disks.

Thanks for any info

It should work fine to copy it as you need a subscription to play. You could just use his disk to reinstall or copy his EQ2 directory directly to his computer, i have done this and it works fine i even get access to his ui settings

When I first decided to play after the trial I didn't want to go out and pay the $70.00 for EoF and living so far away it was going to be a while before I could anyway so I downloaded Everquest 2 (basic) and to save having to do it again I burned it straight away. Also when I did buy the EoF the very first thing I did while I waited for the patch was burn em all as back ups. I have five kids and one of them is a 3 year old boy with red hair who loves playing with mummy's pooty stuff. There were protections on them and Nero would not work so I used Power ISO in trial mode (I think) to burn em up. I would always recommend having a back up of software you have bought. Tessa.
