<p>I suppose this could go in either UI or Tradeskill, but ima put it here since Ilu seems so attentive. =)</p><p>The recipe book that we all use for our tradeskilling.. I don't like it.  As a Sage, I find it totally frustrating to try to navigate this book and find what I am looking for.  Why can I not sort/filter my spells by class?  Leveling up my Sage with my guildmates, I found by far the most common query I needed to make in my recipe book was "show me all xxx class spells", but I cannot do that.</p><p>As a more general point: if we want to see what a given recipe will actually make, we essentially have to right click, inspect, then inspect a 2nd time.  This redundant 2nd step is frustrating to me.  I know it seems minor, but sometimes you want to scan through your recipes and see what you'll make, and the fact is the UI doesn't really let you do that directly.</p>

They changed the 2nd examine to be a tool-tip and not a right-click examine.  That at least reduced 1 of the right-click examines. But... I agree that the initial recipe examine window could be A LOT better.  I wish it combined both the recipe details and the actual item and that the classes which could use an item were part of the recipe tool tip (not just for spell makers, for -all- items). I have had fighters ask me what their spells are and I have to direct them elsewhere for a spell list because I am not going to examine each one to look and see.

I agree - the recipe book is not very user friendly. I also would like to be able to click on one of the books I've scribed listed to just sort out the recipes that came in that particular book.

<p>I think it would be great if the recipe books could show us when we have already gotten that bonus exp for the first pristine...maybe just an asterisk or some little mark.</p><p> I try to keep track....but it would be really nice if you could just scroll through the recipes (especially when you are trying to level to the next tier) and see if there is anything left that could give you that little extra push. <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></p>

<p>I am sure that any of the scholar classes would love to be able to sort our recipies by class. I make my guildies spells they will need later down the road and I get those by remembering what is most asked for. Sorting by class would be great as I would be able to send my guildie the spells for the next three lvls without having to go to another site to get the list. </p><p>Amud 40brig/66alchemist</p><p>Teace 26assassin/53woodworker</p>

I share the frustration. I've stumbled across a few recipes that do actually have the name of the class at the beginning of the recipe name (e.q. Inquisitor: Torment).  If all scholar spell upgrade recipes had this then we could sort by class.  This seems the simplest solution to me, short of completely redesigning the recipe book UI.  I know that a dev doing this might find it a gutty, monotonous task, but it would only have to be done the once (rather than done by every scholar every time we are asked to make spells for a particular class).

So scanning through the tooltips, if the fourth box is a thumbnail instead of a picture, you know you've created a pristine. However I agree with everyone in general that the list is not very user friendly, and most of the useful information is "back-loaded". It'd be far better to be able to see/sort by class, level, tradeskill set, book, and crafted status right there in the main list, with components and item stats in the tooltip. A table with click-sort columns would be nice.... Advanced search should be able to sort for components, rares, class, item level, tradeskill level, crafting skill, the works.

<p> Yeah. This has been a problem for a very long time, I remember when I first started crafting in beta folks were complaining. Really shouldn't be that hard of a fix for them since the basic search function is already part of the recipe book. They just don't seem interested in changing it</p>

using the edit function has some abilities to sort by spellbook/level, you highlight the levels or spellbooks you want and then save the sort.  I too wish there was a way to sort by class tho, for all scholar TS
