I know some of this has been discussed but was wondering if I could get some clarification. Symmetry/Healing pulse or other effects that increase the base value of heals, from my understanding, on the time of the spell cast and duration of the spell. So a longer cast heal spell gets a more direct benefit over a quicker spell, and heals such as reactives, regens and proc/debuff get the bonus spread across the duration of the spell.

Now this being the case, Ministration effectively increases the speed of your heal spells being cast. Will increasing your Ministration decrease the value of these effects, or are the effects calculated before Ministration is added? Does anyone know if there is a point where I should cap both to get the maximum benefit from both skills?

Also, Devine Recovery and the casting speed buff Illusionists use decrease cast speed, do these also affect the Symmetry/Healing pulse efect?

Hope I haven't confused anyone...just trying to make myself the most effective Templar I can be.

Nanbu

So, to the best of my knowledge, ministration takes no bearing on the amount symmetry or healing pulse increase your heal spells by.

Just a quick add-on to this... the last time I heard a dev say something on the subject, they said the reduced casting times on spells affecting +damage/healing effects was a display bug. They never intended AA buffs to reduce the spell's effectiveness. Of course this is very hard to test for ourselves since nearly everything lands for a variable amount.

About the only time I see parses that I measure myself is on raids, and those being so situational as to what group I'm healing and the mob we are fighting, it makes it very hard to discern what really makes a more efficient healer.

Thank you for the clarification as well Spondilux, becasue the next question I was going to post was to ask if it was more important to have Flowing Thought gear over higher burst heal gear. I say this only becasue I'm finding it hard to have decent flowing thought AND the increased heal effects. But I have found some very interesting combinations of +Ministration and heal effects, either on the items themselves or that can be adorned to have both.

Is there a cap on the +Ministration?

Nanbu

I have always been a fan of hidden stats. As soon as it was possible to by gear, I maxed out my FT and kept it there. Of course my health/power/wis scores were not the highest, but I didn't die offchance and I didn't run out of power due to the FT. Now I'm trying to get as much +healing as I can as well. I don't make it on any leader boards for stats, but I have capped in-combat power regen with the Dirge that's always in my group and like +230 healing effects. I admit though that I have not tried for +ministration since they removed fizzling.
