Im looking for info on what kind of DPS different classes do I understand that the Zerker isnt a DPS class but more of a tank class here in 2 than it was compared to 1. I'm currently still playing the original EQ and just recieved EQ2 for valentines day (oh how did she make a mistake)...anyways if anyone is able to just give me a few links or something I dont seem to be looking in the right places. or just post your thought on the zerkers DPS and how other classes compare to this. I've created a Zerker today and am surpised his DPS at lvl 7 is a lot more than I thought a tank class would have but its only 7 dunno how it will be at 55 or even 65 and 70. I play a ranger in EQ and dont really like how their DPS turned out im a person who likes to play a class that inflicts a LOT of damage as quickly as possible. so any info would be greatly appreciated thanks.

You might want to read over the sticky FAQ post at the top of this forum, which contains a summary of the classes and what type of damage they do. For tank classes, yes, the berserker is among the best (particularly when taking on multiple mobs at once). Bruiser and monk are also relatively high damage. In general the "top" dps classes are considered to be assassin, ranger, and wizard, with a close second for brigand, swashbuckler, warlock, conjuror, and necromancer. The scouts and the mages are the two archetypes designed to fill the dps roles in groups (enchanters and bards being lower dps, however, as they're really the utility classes and have other functions). "Achievement" choices can make a big impact however, a paladin who's got 100 Achievements and equipment all geared to increasing dps will do far more dps than a paladin who took different choices. You won't get a paladin outdamaging an assassin, but there can be quite a big variation nonetheless. This kind of Achievement choice will generally be made at the expense of something else, however - for example our paladin may be doing significantly more damage than other paladins, but there may be areas where he's not as good a tank as a paladin who focused on those Achievement choices instead. Each player has to decide what role they will mainly want to play and can customize their character accordingly. (Yes, you can change your Achievement selections - once Game Update 32 goes live, it will cost 10g if you change once a month, more if you do it more often.)
