/pet ranged question for a new Necro....

   I'm new to the Necro class so, please, forgive my Noobness.  When is the command /pet ranged to be cast? How long is the duration? Do I need to cast it whenever I summon a new pet?

I believe that command is new too so we are all in the same boat.  I'm not sure if it works for anything other than the mage pet.

It's the default behavior for the magepet, you don't have to use it after you summoned a new one. If, however, you were to issue it the /pet melee command and then wanted it to back up and fight at range again, you'd use the /pet ranged. Hard to think of a reason why anyone would do that though <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> The tank- and scoutpet are fighting at melee range by default.

warlock pet is the mage pet so it automaticall defaults to /pet ranged.
