I was in a group the other night and noticed that I had 46% run speed. The other ranger in the group said it was his aa, however I can't seem to find this in my aa tree. Can anyone else tell me how to get this aa, I found it very useful and would like to get that asap. I have 11 aa's that I have not used. If I should wait for the run speed enhancement, what should I spend the points in then? I have not used any aa's at all and would like to know what is a good set up. I solo and a prefer to group mostly if that helps to make an aa setup. Thanks.

It's in your Ranger AA line under Pathfinding. I believe you need to have the EoF expansion for it if you can't find it.

It is indeed an EOF AA. It is right under the Sprint AA which is the top of the tree. You can also put points into removing the penalties on defensive stance to get to it (that is the way I went) I believe it is 6% per AA put into it for a total of 30%, when combined with the base 16%, equals 46%. Depending on your level, do the jboots HQ quest and they stack, giving you 56% run speed. The boots are wearable at lvl 42 if I remember correctly. At 46% run speed, I only had problems with the feerott run as I died, but was still able to recover and complete it on the first attempt. I thought I read on the forums that potions stack also, but have not personally tried it. When jumping off the boat in BB and passing people on the way to Gfay, I often get tells asking what my run speed is. I have taken to making little comments as I pass them. Things like "is that horse lame? he seems kinda slow" and "give him the spurs man, you just got passed by a half elf!" A warning though, playing another char that doesn't have it makes that char feel like he is walking.

Is 106% run possible? I've not yet tried it.. but have been tempted. Pathfinding = 46% Jboots = 10% Droag Swill = 40% Crosstrainers = 10% ================ you can activate the crosstrainers while wearing them, then replace them with normal boots and still keep bonus.. I sold my Jboots a long while back so not tried to see if their 10% stacks with Jboots consistant 10%.. or if either of them stack with the swill. but think of it 46% use swill --- 86% use crosstrainers ---- 96% put on Jboots ---- 106% So with multiple crosstrainers to slap on and use.. (easily done since a lv.1 tinkerer can make them), a ranger could run around for 3 hours at 106% run speed, if it all adds up like that. 86% was fast enough for me to run down 3 people in CL from spires before they reached the WFP gate.. at 106% it would be insane.

Has anyone experimented to find out what does and doesn't stack?

In fact, duo'd with my Troub (with his speed AAs) we have 52% runspeed, 62% with our JBoots and over 90% with our quested drink. My Fury's SoW however, does not stack. For a few seconds though, we can kick into high gear with Cheetah.

Anybody know how to determine in-combat movement speed? That's not displayed, so I don't know how the stacking works there. Seems to be faster with my Troub than when I'm solo, but it's hard to say for sure.

a little testing i did: Druid's SoW + Droag Swill + Crosstrainers + my normal buffs = 106% run speed, however it capped at 100%. however it looks like you lose the crosstrainers buff when you zone.. so I only had 100% through Gfay on the way to Loping heh Not tested it with Jboots yet.. as the Crosstrainers do the same thing but for a lot shorter duration.. i'm assuming they won't stack but dunno yet.

I can also confirm jboots and pathfinding stacks. when grouped, I have to take my jboots off for my wife to go on follow, or I end up outrunning her.

I have 46% pathfinding and Jboots and when I was doing the Valentine's Day quest, it felt like I was slogging through molasses.

So will pathfinding, jboots and a totem of the wolf stack? And what is this quest drink? what quest? what level? how many uses?

By the way, if you do the Fae "rite of passage" quests (you have to actually be a Fae), you get a 5% runspeed buff that stacks with anything. It also pretty much turns you into a wisp-butterfly hybrid, because you appear to be the size of a real-life monarch butterfly, yet your body is only a little light (there's nothing physically between the wings). With this, my newly-created level 14 ranger has 51% runspeed. The buff also makes you fall more slowly, and I would be that it's REALLY imbalanced in a pvp setting, because your wings don't actually appear unless you're really close, and they flutter around like something out of the normal scenery (your character appears to be fluttering around like a real butterfly would do). This would make Fae not only able to fall down out of the sky on top of someone, but also able to hide out in the open without stealth. You can't fire from this form, though, but you can drop it really fast.
