Downloading 7-Day Trial question

<p>My friend is trying to download the trial. My question is: Does the trial download the entire game? with or with out expansions? it saying it wont be complete for like 24 hours and she has a high speed connection.</p>

She should notice it speed up significantly over time. Question. If you have the game and the install discs, why not loan them to her and save her some trouble. You can also burn your install to dvd (just the paks folder really) and give that to her. Will save her a lot of time as those .pak files take up the most room and are the bulk of the download. Also, have her cancel the dl, unselect all the check boxes under preferences and select download while i play to speed up the process. Welcome to eq2.

The trial does not download the full game. I'm not aware of what exactly is downloaded, but think that DerDrache has the jist of it -- the things you need to access in the trial area. If you convert to a full account after the trial, the 'rest of the game' will download through the patcher. Going off disks (even a friends disk with your key) will save time.

<p>I noticed people are having issues with the patcher. Any idea if that would effect someone download the trial?</p>

Essentially, the only thing limiting on them would be which files it grabs based on what type of account is being used (making it easy to upgrade from trial to full later and just adding on more files to dl and check). In short, yes, if there was widespread issues, they have a high potential to experience them as well.
