Range weapon question

<p>I just started a bard for fun (fae bard at that) and I'm curious about something.  From a RP perspective, I really don't want to use a bow and would rather use throwing daggers, but I don't want to do something that will weaken the character TOO much.</p><p>anyone else out there using throwing daggers?</p>

I don't understand why we are forced to use a bow either. I would rather use a mages symbol myself because the stats are better for most bard attacks anyway.

Use a throwing weapon and whip out the bow whenever you need to use a ranged weapon, for all other times keep that satchel in your ranged slot.</p>

<p>I made the mistake of buying a thrown weapon recently... bag of broken cogs... in an effort of replacing my bow.</p><p>1.) My range dropped from 35 to 25 and I had to stand someplace on the first raid after I did it that put me out of range of my new ranged weap... fantastic.</p><p>2.) I lost 2 attacks... not 1... we have the one bow shot we all get... but many of us have the AA that gives taunt to the mob's current target... </p><p>3.) My goal was to never have to buy arrows again... well that was kinda true... I didn't need to buy arrows... but i have to buy knives... see the summoned broken cogs on the item were stacks of 99 as planned... but only activatable every 15 mins.... and my fire rate was like trippled... I can't keep stocked with ammo without buying.... and when I buy it was costing me MORE per minute of firing.</p><p>So now I am back to looking for a good legendary T7 bow.</p><p>Learn from my mistake...</p>

<p>i use grizzlefazzles bow on my trouby, and will continue to until i get something better like raincaller, or raid drop.  However in raids my focus has not been on a new bow as much as it has every other slot.</p>

yeah, the 10dps adorn is more than enough justification for snagging a bow. again with the kiting?  <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> sheesh. spider, how many times are people going to have to point out to you exactly why we are not the best at kiting  (hell due to our flimsy dps at ranged, we aren't even mediocre at it.) before it registers in that skull of yours? <img src="/smilies/3b63d1616c5dfcf29f8a7a031aaa7cad.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> (HINT: its the fact we have a snare that breaks without warning, and 2 (TWO) nukes we can cast on the run. rangers have much better kiting abilities, as do conjy's - I know its like plowing the ocean, but for some reason i keep holding out hope that you'll eventually grasp this.)
