<DIV>Morning,</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I'm trying to get a carpet effect in one of my rooms. I'm using the Tier 1 Sackcloth rugs with the little fringes on them. Has anyone found a trick to getting them lined up so that the fringes either meet in a line or overlap so the carpet looks seemless? </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I know, I know save time you say and let them lie crooked but I can't..must have structure.. must have little bookses all in line...must have pretty pictures in a row ..must have all weapons ordered in killing types... ok I'll shut up now...anyway any tips appreciated.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>...heart</DIV>

Not sure if you are trying to do what I did (see "Zindi's Diner" thread).  But to line up anything, where you stand makes a big difference.  If you can't get it right, pick it back up, move, then try again.  Unfortunately for me, it is a trial and error process.

I get a problem with the rugs sort of shifting a little right as i lay them down, but if I zone out and come back in they are where I meant them to be before the last little shift happened. As a poster stated above it does matter where you stand on placement, basically you want to be relative to each item in the same way, for instance centering yourself inline with the center of each rug for each placement, it's a hassle, but when you are obsessively neat like I am, it gets the job done.<div></div>

In addition to positioning yourself in the middle of where your trying to lay the rug, here is a trick to adjusting the "shifting." If an item shifts slightly when you place it, <STRONG>do not move</STRONG> and pick the item back up, immediatly replacing it (it is critical that you do not move). This will very often fix the "shifting" problem. It does not always work, but it does most of the time.

They are not perfectly square so that added a little difficulty to the whole placing issue. But got it done.</P> <P>Carpets .... I love them - they add so much character to your room and if its a large room you are splitting up you can have more definition to your rooms. ( ie where they start and stop ).</P> <P>Good luck!</P>
