You can only do Gorenaire or Talendor - not both on a given night.

You must have access to the 4x version of AoA if you don't already.

Once you know the strategy, then it is doable in 20 to 45 min tops.

For us the first time on each of these, it took 1 to 2 trips of 2 to 3 hrs to get it down pat.

Now I schedule AoA 4x and Harla Dar for the same night (3 hrs on a weekday).

We kill Telendar first then Gor. The trick with Gor is that there is a spot on his side where melee does not get hit with the AOEs. 2 tanks and you will be fine. 3rd just incase both tanks get ported.

There are only 3 trash encounters you'll have to kill to reach an elevator up to the dragon. We kill them to gauge our raids DPS for the night. However, you can have a monk tsunami/train you to the back of the elevator if your really looking to save a few minutes time.

So yea, this zone is very short. Possible (tho not advised) to get to a dragon in 1-2 minutes and kill him within another 10.

Message Edited by BeatinGuts on 02-05-2007 09:06 AM

For what it is worth, we had more issues with Talendor then Gorenaire.

The adds for Talendor for those inside his aoe can be rough. But there is a spot where you can tank Talendor and non-MT healers can be to heal you and not be inside the aoe. (Note only those in the MT group get affected by the Knockback, when it goes off on the MT.)

If you position yourself properly for the talendor fight, you can do him without spawning any extra adds (only the 2 from the MT being in the AE) And the MT healers wont get hit by the knockback, either.I'd give yourself an hour per dragon to be safe..shouldnt take longer than that.

i would say it depends on where you are pulling him to. there are lots of different thoughts on this, though i think the most simple is to have the MT stand behind him on the wall and have the healers get range, then have the tank pull him with hex or the like. At times Talen can bounce around some, i have had him go into the geometry as well just reposition him. Also i recomend not using swipe on him it is much easier to time the AOE though it is not set time anymore and can move a few seconds either way, least for us it does.

Also i find that we ressist the Aoe at times, i have had one healer and the MT under it and no adds pop when the spell goes off. Once you have the timers on the mob, joust the healers, load with HOTs and Wards right before call everyone out, BOOM aoe goes off you get 2 adds, pull them out with an off tank burn them with melee while your casters stay on the dragon. We can smoke him pretty quick.

Have the MT tank against the wall right behind Talendor, with max heat resists - approx 11k is good.

Have MT healers off to one side at max heal distance. DPS groups further back than the MT healers. MT pulls Talendor back to the wall, time the AoE that spawns the adds with ACT (Breath of Fire)

3-5 secs before the AoE hits, have all the MT healers back out of AoE range, leaving the healer with max heat resists stay in position ready to heal the MT or have all healers move back and the MT fires off Block or ToS to absorb hits while the healers joust the AoE.

AoE hits...likely the MT and MT healer resist the AoE if not one of them likely will.

2 x adds spawn per person hit by the AoE, have a MA pull the adds back to the dps. Once the AoE hits, all MT healers move back into position. DPS burn down the adds, once they are down MA re-targets Talendor - burn him down - collect the loot

No pets including dumbfires on Talendor as they each spawn adds. Shammy dog is ok to have up, if he doesn't die from an AoE and if the Shammy is in the MT group it will provide AoE resists.

Both Talendor and the Corsalander in Labs are great mobs to practice AoE jousting on.

good luck

Barakuzz
