Something like this would require SOE to upgrade from 14.4k modem. Normally this would simply require upgrading to 28.8k, but due to the massive commerical failure the game has been it would put SOE at a loss.Oh, if only SOE knew how to market instead of just assuming people wanted to be fairies. :smileysad:In other words, there's no chance in hell that SOE will ever fix the lag.

According to the various complaints on the forums regarding the lag issues in there, it's different for every server. Crushbone has it pretty bad as well.

Thanks for your helpful reply.

when your in there with one grp you wont notice it

bring a x4 raid and you will notice it

You notice it on Oasis with a single group when the zone has more than 25 people in it. Once it goes over 30 people and you are fighting the sage or near him, it is very dangerous and sometimes touch and go because of the lag.

i bet its because of the large amounts of mobs that are trying to be rendered in such a small place

thing about it, almost 50% of the zone can be viewed from one location, and the server is trying to account for every mob there as well as prosses battle numbers from another 24 players, its going to lag, in order to cut the lag down they would have to turn down the render distance of the zone, but then you would have mobs render ontop of you, and that would also be a problem,

its a fantastic zone but flawed due to server tech of the time

Message Edited by Mr. Dawkins on 01-19-2007 09:36 AM

I was in the castle last night on Crushbone and I didn't think the lag was too bad. However, I was so worried about it from the start, I put on extreme performance before we got started. We were also the only 6 in the zone.

It has everything to do with the recalculating every single spell/ability that players have when they get the Cast Time Debuff on them.
