View Full Version : Harclave revisited

I finally decided to do harclave with my latest character, a level 40 Shadowknight. Went in using totems, lit the torches, beat up the first group on the ledge to see how well he did against the heroics, he did pretty good actually. So, went down invis to the Shroom King, beat on him easily, invis'd to the final boss and fell flat on my face. I had saved up my Harms Touch and my high damage AoE just for the final boss and even with them I was only able to kill the boss himself and one of his helpers. My Wizard can blast her way through the entire zone, taking out multiple groups at once, and defeat the end boss's group with ease, but none of my melee classes can even come close to defeating the final boss. Luckily my MOnk and Swashy did the zone before it was ruined. I retried them recently and neither one is capable of defeating the zone at all, and were actually worse off than the SK on the final battle.

After checking logs one very obvious thing shows up. The Wizard/Warlock gets a heal from the buff every few tics, the melee classes do now get this heal at all. If the melee classes had the heal they would be able to defeat the final boss I'm sure. I did check a log from when Harclave first came out and sure enough, everyone got the heal then.

Has anyone else tried this recently? I really think this zone would be a lot more popular if the quests in here werent as bad as they are now. On a sunday night the server I am on is under high load, but I am the only one in the zone, as in its deserted. I hope someone who reads this can do something, I would really like to have the lvl 20 taunt and be able to transport here with the shard when needed, and with no one wanting to come in here to help and not being able to finish harclaves it may never happen for any of my new characters.

As killer said - its been so overnerfed there really is little point doing Harclave at all any more. Far better places around. Feels like one of those 5 minute 'solo' zones where you have a small chance of a named mob dropping a treasured item thats trash for people one or more tiers below yours.

While no longer the one stop shop for safe (abit boring) leveling it's still a nice stop over.Gate to harclaves, grab quest, invis through lighting torches, grab buff, invis to end, kill named and sit in chair. Then qate out and return to your normal adventuring. The mobs themselves arn't worth killing but you get a sizeable exp boost from quest completion for aprox 10 minutes work.

That alone, with invis makes the trip worth it once a level when I remember.agressiv³

Remember at lower levels it can be more difficult for some classes.Don't even try the harder choices if they still come up for you as orange = can't hit it.Bring along cure potions as well for the last guy's mental or what ever DoT.Use your gnoll / skeleton strikes at that time as well.If you have it, use Doom Judgement to remove any buffs that might be on him.

a free 20% xp for 3 min of work is not nerfed

i walk in there once a lvl and get my free 20% just by doing the quest and maby another 10% if i want to kill everything there

as for the OP, yes hes hard, even in all feysteel armor and master spells he can still bring my sk to 50% hp in def stance, if i go offencive hell kill me
