View Full Version : Solo instances in EoF?

Does anyone know if there are any solo instances in EoF? It seems they were not very popular -- I know I rarely use them -- and was wondering if SOE gave up on that idea.

Wish they didn't. All the t5 and below instances that had herioc and solo chioces were so hard to find. Making exsisting instances having a solo version i think would be a better idea then randomly placing new ones players can't find.

yeah why cant soe make solo instances like the underoot zones in nek forest. soe why cant you make zones like that for kos and eof for alot of us peeps who work for a living and done have time to try to get a lvl 70 group all the time. i dont know why soe cant just make a underoot.direhollow area ib eof and kos. give peeps a choice at higher lvls other than having only to be able to lvl having to be a group. you should help the salt of the earth we pay to play like the peeps who got nothing else better to ldo in life but play eq2. theres are plenty of times when i have an hour to play or so and dont have time to group at lvl 70 and get anything done. now guys im just talking bout solo instances not doing quests an stuff but then at 70 when your doing anice worthwhile quest and nmaybe get an item that at least decent you have to have a full group chances are. now dont get me wrong before you start flaminbg me im just stating alittle something i and others would like to see. ive been in eq2 simce beta and played eq1 from start and dont plan on leaving. im just wanting to make soe aware of some things i have talked to other peeps in eq2 about. thanx

The most recently added solo instances have been the monk quests in the Fallen Dynasty expansion pack. What this demonstrated superbly is how far out-of-whack class balance is when it comes to soloing. Compare the success of your average assassin to your average mystic in these instances.

Good thing some classes still have solo instances like Nest of the Great Egg or we would be relying on bot groups for all our T7 masters.

One of the reasons there have not been any solo instances (quest instances aside) since T5 is that people mostly solo to grind XP. When you hit end game, you obvoiusly do not need to grind out xp any more. There are some people that would like to have solo instances at the level cap for whatever reason, but they seem to be very much the minority.

Best question I could ask those people is exactly what purpose would a solo instance at level 70 serve in this game?

It's the fun of simply playing the game, knowing that you don't need to group up (even more so with a pick up group of newbs), and collecting some needed money/gear/whatever and not worrying about my poor rolls to win anything. Not everyone has a large guild to log into, and with people wanting to group up when you have time to play. Even if they did, different people are locked out of certain instances all the time, etc. A solo instance gives me the opportunity to log on when I want to and go do something right now, rather than wait around forming a group of guildies (or pick up - ew), and worry about the lock out timers.

I'm 70 now and not gaining xp, but of course I haven't always been 70. Even before I hit 70, many times it was difficult finding a complete group needed to do some harder HQ's etc, so once I leveled up, I simply went back and soloed the stuff. It was grey, so I wasn't getting xp. But I still wanted to do it to get status/guild status/quest reward.

Message Edited by FightGame on 01-15-2007 02:07 PM

Which would only server to lock you out for 4 hours after you complete it, at which point you (not just you, everyone that prefers to solo) would likely complain about the lack of solo content again.
