So we did a pickup raid for Coldtooth, the white walrus in TS.  After a bunch of failed attempts, we manage to get him, and he drops the guaranteed metal box.Guess what the fabled is inside:<img src="http://img177.imageshack.us/img177/6550/sivrilbv6.jpg">Woot, vendor fodder for something like 90s.  I know this was a fabled crafting component, but I know that this was tier 4 or something and was never in the game even before. Can someone update the loot tables of contentested / old world raid mobs to not drop this worthless fodder?  That, or at least make this worth, like a plat or so. <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" />agressiv³<div></div>

Yep you got hosed. I believe that SOE screwed up by removing crafted fabled items. It would be a nice boost for tradeskillers to be able to craft a premium item that can only be made from a rare from a contested mob, and a crafting book that dropped off a raid mob. It is just silly that they had the ingredients to make the t4 fabled item drop, but never the recipe books. And to top it off, contested mobs are still droping the rares? Just doesn't make sense. Good luck on compensation besides the VT fees. <div></div>

I feel for ya.  I agree too, they should have put the recipes into the game so you could craft something with them.  The T5 items you could get were OK and worth the effort to get the components.  It seems like something that was taken out of the game that had a lot of potential.

The T3-4 stuff was never put in, that dev probably figured it was easier to pretend the problem didn't exist than to do his job.The fabled crafting stuff (T5) was taken out because it didn't fit their plan of item progression. The plan being to make crafted and mastercrafted exactly the same 1-70, but with slightly higher numbers each time. Fabled was planned to be all over the map, resulting in some of the best items worn by top raiders dropping in group instances, while items dropping from contested mobs rot because nobody wants to downgrade to fabled. Treasured items were planned to be sold to vendors because they'd typically have worse stats than you could buy from a tradeskiller for the cost of fuel, let alone what you could get for fuel + a rare. It's funny that there have been obvious, obnoxious, glaring, bugs/oversights in this game for over two years and nobody has pushed the delete button to remove items like this from loot tables.<div></div>
