<DIV>The final named needed in the Court of Innovation in Klak Anon is bugged. I have tried unsuccessfully twice to beat the final named and no luck. </DIV> <DIV>I have followed every bit of advice on how to take him down from clearing the zone to not using the gear until the last 10 percent. I cannot get his health below 100%.</DIV> <DIV>I even brought in a friend of mine on his lvl 70 Sk (I'm a lvl 70 Necro) and still no luck. I assume that the Master Clockwork Protocol encounter is bugged until further notice. So all who need him for quests of any sort including Heritage Quests like myself are up a creek with no paddle. I have bugged this encounter. Dev's please help and unbug the encounter....and make is so the whole zone does not have to be cleared. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>I've posted this somewhere else and it has worked for both my self and others.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ever so often, possibly right before you engauge him he will start a buff that makes him immune to damage and spell casting.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>When that buff is up, hitting him either with spells or weapons will reset the timer of the stone skin. I'm guessing his Stone Skin proc is the same timer as the 20 second ward that Dirges can have. Purcussion of Stone willl proc when you take a melee hit. It doesn't matter if any of the damage gets through or not, only that you get hit. So it's possible to have a Stoneskin buff up and get hit (causing the Stoneskin buff to drop) and at the same time getting hit will proc another stone skin. This will mean the next time you get hit the stoneskin will block that too.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>This creates the illusion that you are impervious to damage. But unlike the Dirges Stone skin the proc is 100% and it looks like it's a self perpetuating buff, like a command that says "if damage is taken and stoneskin blocks damage cast Stoneskin".</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But if you wait out the 20 seconds the ward will fade without resetting the ward.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So What you need to do is, if you see him begin To Stoneskin, STOP ALL ACTION TOWARDS HIM. In Fact just back out of auto melee range and make no action against him. After 20 Seconds throw out a test attack. If it goes through then go all out with your DPS and use the gear to keep him from recasting his damage immune buff. You will only have a handfull of seconds if you don't use the gear and that opening widens with the Gear use.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Now he periodically says something about you not being able to hurt him and use that as your time start, (20 seconds) eventually his buff will fade and that's when you strike. But he will recast it so be prepared for it not working some times you just have to wait again until the his refreshed stoneskin drops again.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you continue to do damage his Stoneskin will stay up all the time, meaning what windows of opertunity you may have had will be shortened by the longer duration of his Stoneskin.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Basically think of his encounter like a big game of Red light, Green Light.</DIV><p>Message Edited by Hazeroth on <span class=date_text>12-20-2006</span> <span class=time_text>02:22 AM</span>

*copies and pastes from the OP other thread on the same subject*Been in 4 times now, all trips successful.Ive heard of his stoneskin bugging instantly but it shouldn't really activate until hes at 10% so there is a bug with the encounter its just not that prevalant from my own experiences./bug and keep trying is all you can do.

Haz I saw what you posted on the other thread before and I did try following your advice last night about the stoneskin buff and it still did not work. I am on the Guk Server and yes the encounter is bugged. We tried backing off and waiting. I had your post up while doing the encounter and tried what you said. It did not work. Sorry but this encounter is bugged. When I was on Kithicor I was able to kill the guy so I know it's possible. But trust me, I tried the encounter twice and even the friend that was with me will back me up. The encounter is not working at the moment. Sorry.

I had this same issue the last time I ran through the instance. Waiting 20+ seconds in that case did not seem to work for me either, I wound up letting him kill me, and it was working properly on the 2nd attempt. Got him down to ~10%, used the cog to get rid of his shield, and killed him after that. <div></div>

Dunno.. we had no issues with this when I went.  It was red to me so all I did was sit at range (brigand) and use the gear and snare debuffs.  The others in the group attacked from range with spells.  We never saw the ward I don't think.<div></div>

<DIV>Ah, sorry to hear it doesn't work all the time.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I truly despise Free Radicals messing with my final conclusions. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Sure there could have been something else we had done unknowingly.</DIV> <DIV>The encounter was truely bugged and the group I was with had spent close to 30-45 minutes trying to get past it's defenses.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>It could be something more insidious. Like, that if he puts that buff up you may have to wait 30 minutes or more until the buff fades and it was just curious happen-stance that we desided to try the listed Tactic above at the same time the buff naturally faded.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Ah well, Hopefully I will see this bug again so i can run more tests.</DIV>

i have soloed him with my 70 sk, no probs, w/o even using the cog ...dropped him hard too. sure he got me to 12 percent but.only cause i let him...lol got lazy on the life taps, doom judgement stripped his protective stoneskin i believe , and then killed him like a normal mob.

<DIV>Thanks for the tip Hazeroth, the first time I was in there I couldn't get his health to budge. I'll give it another go when I need him for the quest.</DIV>

I went in there over the weekend to update Raincaller and found the same issue of the final named being untouchable to start the fight. Like others I came here and tried the above tips and timings - and nothing seemed to work. I finally tried 'Serene Symbol' an AA druid ability that debuffs - and to my surprise it worked. So just another option if you have a druid with you with this AA line.

<p>My Level 70 Necro, and a Level 66 Fury friend went to this zone to clear it out, I mentored to Lvl 66, occasionally unmentoring to clear certain sections.</p><p>The only problem is when we got to King Klak'Anon, he went through the speech and agroed the Fury, just after I mentored and we beat him only to have him say "Error, error, I will not be defeated".</p><p>It is at this stage he is meant to run to the top of the platform and transform apparently, but for us he ran back to his spot, became unattackable and apparently bugged out.</p><p>We thought we had missed something in the zone so we cleared the entire zone of mobs, King Klak'Anon still bugged out leaving us confused and somewhat annoyed.</p><p>A lot of trouble to go through just to have the character that spawns the final boss to bug out like that. We still dont know what caused it.</p>

<span style="font-family: comic sans ms,sand">Been there more times than I have fingers and he's always worked fine. Dont it in many different ways, mentoring, unmentoring to clear random things, and solo. Each time it's been great. No idea why it wouldn't be working.</span>

Did you use the Cog?  Anyone that has seen the movie Tron should know this encounter.

<p>with a good wizzy manaburn all you see is yellow and then dead mob. no cog no stoneskin no nothing.</p><p>went in with group average level 54 and mentored gaurdian. 6 seconds of normal fighting or so then 5 second cast of manaburn = dead boss</p><p>the group didn't even have enough time to finish the discussion about the cog</p>

<p><span style="font-size: medium">Under the chest of the named you kill right before the final, you will find a small cog.  One team member (usually the tank) should right click this and pick it up.  The cog is tradable and nozone.  It's not worth anything so if you get some ninja picking it up, give them a slap.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium">Now you have located the cog and know where it is, toolbar it.  (Drag it to a toolbar).  When the final named becomes immune, simply click the cog and voila the shield de-activates.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: medium">Done this instance more times than I can count and works every time.</span></p>

Oh it's important that everyone is standing on flat ground when you kill the guy who drops the cog.  Otherwise it can bug under the ground.

<span class="postbody">Just an update.... I received an email response from SoE's customer service via /petition, and this is a known bug, and is being addressed.  As do when, they didn't say.  I am very surprised at the lack of response on the boards to this, especially since it is now a step in the newly added epic quests....</span>
