View Full Version : EoF raiding & server lag

<DIV>After having the unfortunate pleasure of experiencing massive server lag at a couple of the new raiding instances & one of the dungeons in a few occasions. I thought that it could be a good time to ask if its only a Runnyeye-server problem or is this something that could be said to be a gamewide issue?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To start describing the problem, all the way from the start of EoF following instances: Clockwork Menace Factory, Freethinkers Hideout on occasions can be lagged out to almost/totally unplayable condition much similar to fashion Bonemire and Barren Sky could be when the areas nearby Mutagenic Outcast & 3 princes were really crowded resulting in 100+ at the zone.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>While the 2 instances are the most lagged ones at Runnyeye, this is mostly because the two zones are often crowded with a couple or a few guilds at the same time. However - even with many guilds at the same zone, this should not result in lags such as 2-3+ second delay as usual in Clockwork Menace Factory or 4-8+ second at worst of the times at Freethinkers Hideout. In KoS there was rarely if ever anything this bad when it comes to instance lag / although the overland zones were a different scenario, but it sure seems as if there is something wrong with the EoF instancing or our server.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also it would seem that Castle Mistmoore can be made almost unplayable by simply bringing the raid to the 2nd floor of the dungeon. Both times we were trying to raid the 2nd floor, it resulted in severe lag - first time was with 12 people in raid and also only 12 people in-zone as well. The dungeon was spiking with around 3 second delay on every action, especially when starting combat. Now the second visit was with a full raid, and nearly 40 people in total at the zone. As expected even just by having the raid fighting its way through the first floor the dungeon was already lagging like mad.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>But as if it wasn't enough - once we made our way to 2nd floor and to the hallway behind Gargoyle guardians and pulled the encounters with multiple vampires there... The whole dungeon felt as if it was just simply falling apart, actions from both players & mobs were going out once in a 15-30 seconds area. Oddly enough, the massive lag only happened when pulling the vampires which made one of  our raiders to believe there is some problem with the mob abilities causing even further lag on the dungeon.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So... With all that being said, has any of the other servers been experiencing same sort of issues?  Is it just here at Runnyeye? And most important of all, when can we expect this to get fixed?</DIV>

<div></div>Judging by the lack of replies i guess this is an euro-only issue, wish i could say that surprises me.Any chance this can be fixed before the next expansion?<div></div>

It's not a euro-only issue. It's just an issue that has been beaten to death since DoF. Multiple guilds in the same raid zone(different instances of course) causes both zones to lag.

It has never been this bad as it currently is for us during EoF at least - some of the zones become almost unplayable which has never really been an issue before.</P> <P>Even now at the moment, we are doing Mistmoore's inner sanctum and during the fights its not too uncommon to see a pause of 5 seconds if not even more. Of course combined with the constant delay on CA's etc.</P>

Aye the lag when more than one guild are in a raid zone is unbearable, and as a paying customer I think its fairly poor. Tonight in inner Sanctum, another guild in the zone, delays of upto 5 seconds. When we fought our way down to the zone we were the only guild there, - the whole raid was rubber banding everywhere - surely this isnt right and deserves the attention of the soe team to look into? ...

<P>We've had these issues in CMF and had a HORRIBLE (I cannot stress how bad) time in Freethinker's on Monday night.  I believe at least two other guilds were in there at the same time we were.</P> <P>We went to Inner Sanctum last night.  Lag was terrible getting through MM into Inner Sanctum, but once we were inside, lag didn't seem to be an issue.  What WAS an issue was that as we progressed, we'd have 2 - 5 people going mysteriously LD mid-fight.   Sometimes they made it back in to their groups before they lagged out of game, sometimes they didn't.  We also had major problems with mobs resetting mid-fight.  It was a total drag.</P>

EoF instance are unbearable when a few guilds are doing it.<div></div>

<DIV>Yeah, it seems this expansion's raid zones lag worse than DoF and KoS. 2 guilds in FH or CMF is the equivelant of 4 guilds in lyceum. Castle mistmoore is a joke. We went in there with a raid of 24 and hit the 2nd floor. The lag was unreal, and there were maybe 3-4 other people in the zone. We raided mistmoore's inner sanctum afterwards, and there was another guild in there. I didn't really expect that guild to get by the first couple trash mobs, and once we zoned in and lagged them up I believe they zoned out with no hope of killing a chaperon. So we were fine for the rest of the raid.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, I've talked with a few people and it seems that one of the ae's the vampires cast on the pull quite often lags the zone. It's not video lag, because I was on Gumby mode with everything turned down, and my PC isn't lame. It seemed to give server lag. Several others in our raid experienced this as well. I think it's an elemental debuff ae.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Also, multiple guilds in freethinkers might be bugging up the shredder's script too. It seems like when there are multiple guilds there that he likes to drop multiple vases alot if he's alive in both instances. (This is similar to the Godking bug in early DoF where 2 guilds in FoL would make the Godking AE every 5 seconds or so, uncontrollably. Also, all the scripted emotes of the council encounters went to both instances.)</DIV>

<DIV>Yeh I agree a problem with inner sanctum contested part of the zone is a nightmare, the spells the vamp's cast do cast a HUGE delay <img src="/smilies/9d71f0541cff0a302a0309c5079e8dee.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /> - Just not sure why EoF has to be the suckiest expansion so far for lag. Maybe we will get a response 'working as intended' lol - I hope not <img src="/smilies/69934afc394145350659cd7add244ca9.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /></DIV>

This is not a runnyeye server issue only. On Storms, french server, situation is the same. Most of the raid content and EoF zone are so lagguy we haven't any pleasure to raid & play. Moreover, the ton of bug in raid content is so impressive, it give us a sad tast: being [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]ed up...<div></div>

<P>Splitpaw is no better</P> <P>On Wednesday night 2 raid guilds (that i know of) were in the Inner Sanctum, started off reasonable, then slowly developed into CA spell lag from anything between 5 up to 10 seconds, on top of this horrendous link deads, also lots of people who died and revived getting stuck at the loading screen and having to restart EQ2</P> <P>We kill a few named and then called home and did Labs as it was basically unplayable, labs was the fasted smoothest lag free run ever which was nice</P> <P>EoF raid lag is the worst i have seen</P>

Yes raid instances cant handle more one raid guild without lag.But EoF is the worse lag ever.Just try to play in Castle Mistmoor when there is like 12-20 peeps, it's a kind of joke.Weird humour SOE. <img src="/smilies/8a80c6485cd926be453217d59a84a888.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>
