Hi Raiders,i have an important question because we have a huge problem on german eq2 servers:Everytime when there are more than 50 players, lets say 100 players in a zone we have UNBELIEVABLE LAGS !That means: On weekends when lots of RaidForces (4-6) enter Deathtoll it lags so evil that we have HUGE PROBLEMSwith epics wich are A PIECE OF CAKE FOR US. Tanks go down because healers have 10-30 secs lagsor they simply loose aggro and the RaidDPS ist total crap. This problem startet in T6 and it seams to be an EQ2localisation problem. And the biggest problem of all: WE say "it lags" and nothing changed since t6. They justaks questions like:" how does it lag ? where does it lag ?" ... Sometimes the answer with "ok we'll try to fix it"and sometimes we recognize a slightly better server performance, but a few days/weeks later the lags come back.My question:On US servers when there are more than 5 raids are at the same time in the same raidzone - does it lag ???

It helps when you're raiding on european time on a US server, like we do :smileyhappy:

But yes, lag will occur if the zones are heavily used.

Perhaps with the new engine tweaks, which are reported to be active on beta, the problem will get solved to an extent, but until then it's pretty much the choice of server which counts. With the current engine on live, it's almost impossible to have many people per zone and lag-free gameplay.

thx a lot for those answers ...But in fact, since 2 years SOE tries to localize the german servers and the result is equal zero. And everytime they try out a new localisation patch on innovation and valor you logg in, type a simple "Hi" in the guild chat and you can wait up to 1 till 2 minutes before its displayed in the /gu.After that you know: ok it's patchtime, better logg of because gaming isnt possible the next 1-3 days.REALLY - there are NO raids and you CANT play - some hardcores still have the cuts to go gathering !In the meanwhile we try to let SOE know whats going on our servers - using the forum to communicate. If we have luck, then 3 days later they fixed the patch or they removed it - and maybe after a week there isa complaining respond from a real dev wich tells us that "their database can't handle these patches".So it seems we all got lags .... ok we got the real evil lags because we are ones they TRY to localize :smileymad:Raidzones as Halls of Seeing change every week in translation, sometimes it's "Pain", week later "Schmerz"and when it gets freaky he's called "0815/get.28567".grrr gettin' angry - what are they doing ? lack of knowledge ? lack of hardware ? i dunno

Since about last LU I did never experience this again.

You're probably right with localization causing much trouble, because it seems that this is the reason some patches cannot be applied to german servers. And beside that, the localization (or 'denglish' as I called it) is a real pain - I am with you there. I did start on a german server but switched soon to the US ones because of that.

Message Edited by Renpatsu on 11-06-2006 08:09 AM

Yes. Imagine 5 different guilds plus onlookers plus normal zone population at the MO. Bonemire crashes about 2 or 3 times, glad we left before it got to that point. As for instanced zones, I only notice lag when other guilds are zoning into another version of the instance.
