<DIV>Am I the only one wishing that SoE would create a server that implemented the "One toon only" rule? Though I understand the enjoyment some people have creating a new toon after maxing out their main and "twinking" him/her to ridiculous heights of power, I personally would like to see a server that didn't allow this...preferrably RP/PVP. I believe FV on EQ1 was like this, so I know it's possible.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Imagine a market where prices weren't driven through the roof because of "twinks."  A place where you could have that younger toon actually enjoy quests and adventure, knowing that a character 10 levels below you wasn't going to ride up on a Mistrunner/Nightmare and one-shot you with the [Sword of a Thousand Truths] or some other insane weapon..unless he earned it of course. Where crossing paths with a group of your sworn enemies didn't have you running for your life because they spent 20p on their alts gear and you are new or not willing to do the same.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Granted, I could move to a PVE server and not have to worry about the pvp aspect of all this (though the market prices for low level gear/rares is [expletive haxx0red by Raijinn]) but I truely enjoy pvp. I just don't enjoy having to blow all my main's cash just to stand a chance against it.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Hell, I'd love to see a server like FV from EQ1 w/ all of its rules... Racial langauge barriers vs. city....no public chat channels...etc...a TRUE RP server...but I would settle for one described above.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Am I the only one?  Comments?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>

<DIV>This is an insteresting Idea I am not shure where I stand on it, I did however like that aspect of SWG to a point. However, I do not think this is the right thread to post this on, it probly would be better off in the <A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board?board.id=futexp" target=_blank>Future Expansions </A> thread.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Edited to correct 1 of my spelling mistakes and add the clicky.</DIV><p>Message Edited by ke'la on <span class=date_text>11-01-2006</span> <span class=time_text>11:46 PM</span>

It would probably be best not to force players into having only one toon per server.  If you wanted to do this on your own, you can easily do so.  It would require you to delete toons that are sharing the same server so that you could start new ones on the others.  I happen to have all 6 toons on the same server so that they can all craft for each other.  Being forced onto other servers means that my crafting team would be gone and would need to buy whatever I can't craft.  I'd rather stay on the same server.

<DIV>it was like this in SWG, it worked there because you could change your professions on a whim...  i don't like the idea for EQ2, once you roll one toon you're stuck with it or delete it...  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i think this would hurt server populations as a whole, i'm bored with my lvl 70 toon alot of times so i'm on an alt more than my main as of late...  yes i've twinked it out some, but i still have my friends that i can group with either with them mentoring, or me mentoring with my main, or just playing with their alts...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i did 1-70 on my main from the day the server opened, so there was no twinking option...  the server economy's can handle the twinked out alts, most ppl i know skip ad1's completely ad go straight to ad3 or masters...  the game has been created around crafted gear (app4/nonrare) anything else is a bonus...  i enjoyed the progressing threw the game doing the quests, seeing the zones for the first time in average gear...  i really don't want to do that again, i've made the money to afford my alts better items than what my main had...  i have nothing to spend my money on now besides repairs and food/drink except alts...  i'm attached to my main toon, and to a lesser extent the server i'm on...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i know alot of 70/70/50 people that have all of their masters and are completely fabled out, there is no reason for them to play at all, they have effectilve beat the game...  yet they still log on and raid every night because they enjoy raiding and they can get things for a twinked toon (raiding for gearing alts)...  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>these ppl could have cancled their accounts in like june, saved the monthly fee till the expansion came out...  this in turn would cause others to do the same...  get geared and stop playing and have the constant turnover of ppl once they reach the lvl cap and get geared, raid guilds would hurt the most, the constant turnover of ppl is really a killer thing, we already see it with some burning out so we have to replace them with someone not geared and not knowing what to do in certian situations...</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>i also have friends that have several toons in the 30-60 range and play them all for whatever mood they are in...  nomatter what toon they want to play they still have their friends/guildies to play with...  if they had to strech this out on multi servers they probably would have quit the game long ago...  i've had this discussion in both guilds that i'm curently a member of, they are the extremes of the spectrum (7 night a week raiders and a small quest/social)...  they have both said that it would be bad for the game and wouldn't play EQ2...</DIV>

well... if there would be enough endgame content... and the way to get there extreme long.... then there woudnt really be a reason for me to create alts.....my main is 70/70/50, one of my alts is 70/70/50, another alt is a 70 crafter... another one 60 at adventruing... plus 8 other toons between lvl 10 and 30.... all of them equiped in mastercrafted or better... my main full fabled except for boots and rings.... what for should i play except for lvl alts and doing quests with them?.....<div></div>
