View Full Version : No Guaranteed Chest for Roost?

<div></div>This is in no way a blacklisting, I am simply curious.  Is this the truth that the GM gave me?  That there is no guaranteed chest for completing the x2 roost?  Because I always assumed, incorrectly I guess, that any zone with a 5 day lockout will at least drop a chest.......  Please note, that while the GM says a master chest, we didn't recieve any chest at all, not even legendary.  He justified this to me and our raid leader by saying that chests are not guaranteed....<img src="http://usera.imagecave.com/Truehawk/GM.JPG"><div></div><p>Message Edited by THteampink on <span class=date_text>10-02-2006</span> <span class=time_text>08:19 AM</span>

Ummm... I don't think thats right he has a chance to drop a Legendary or Master. But he is supposed to drop a chest from our understanding. I would try and petiton it again.

Repetition, the GM is completely wrong and is more moronic than than other GMs who don't even understand Game Mechanics.

Thanks guys, we have done this raid before and have always gotten a chest.  I was just curious if this was an intended mechanic before I petition again.  <div></div>

<DIV>I would love to see a GM send this response to a DT raid that didn't get a chest from the boss. Talk about one ticked off raid! I think that after spending that much time and effort to clear an epic zone you are at least entitled to a legendary chest, if not at least a wooden one. From what I have heard about the GM's for SoE, this response does no surprise me. They only hold up the policies set forth, and are not given the leeway to award such things as a master chest. Take the GM's advice and /feedback it. Hopefully someone up there will understand and make the adjustment.</DIV>

<DIV>They can recover chests.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>The one thing im not sure about is if you leave an instance if they can recover it or not.</DIV> <DIV>The way I understand it that they go through the logs to find the chest. </DIV> <DIV>In this situation if they can't find the chest they should just create one for you.  They may have a concern for setting precedence doing this.  </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>We had a Vyemm chest get stuck and petitioned.  We waited in the zone until the CSR arrived and they told us the loot that dropped and put the items in the appropriate persons inventory.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>To give CSR some credit at least for me they usually respond within 1 hour.</DIV>

<P>If a named solo mob can always drop a chest, a named RAID mob should ABSOLUTELY ALWAYS drop a chest.  Even way back on the starter island, where the Queen Bee resides, a level 2 named, she always drops a chest.  She has never failed me in over 2 dozen kills.</P>

not all gms are this stupid...gm tilol came to our raid in game when the golem event with essence of fear bugged out in lyceum.  i think somehow a mob wasnt flagged properly or something, since when we killed the four groups it didnt activate the golems.  he reset the golems, essence of fear and the four groups we needed to trigger the event.nice lil kerra sk <img src="/smilies/283a16da79f3aa23fe1025c96295f04f.gif" border="0" alt="SMILEY" /><div></div>

<P></P> <HR> They can recover chests.  The one thing im not sure about is if you leave an instance if they can recover it or not.The way I understand it that they go through the logs to find the chest. In this situation if they can't find the chest they should just create one for you.  They may have a concern for setting precedence doing this.  We had a Vyemm chest get stuck and petitioned.  We waited in the zone until the CSR arrived and they told us the loot that dropped and put the items in the appropriate persons inventory. To give CSR some credit at least for me they usually respond within 1 hour. <P></P> <HR> <P> </P> <P>They can recover chests even if they are from an instance which has since closed. (IE everyone has left it). Our guild had the loot from Venekor given too us several hours after we had left the instance. Seems they can check back logs and see what dropped in the chest then just summon the items again, because they of course would have decayed. Only problem is that if they take ages and its no trade they will only give the item to someone thats online and who was also in the raid, which is a pain if everyone has gone to bed.</P>

<P>I was in that raid as well.  A few of us petitioned, only one person was initially answered, and we were denied the chest.  The zone was bugged from the get go.  The door to the boss wouldnt even open, we had to run into it and get warped in.  </P> <P>All the rest of the petitions were closed, without a GM talking to us.  I waited online for roughly 6 hours, just to find out my petition was ninja closed on me.  </P>

<div></div>Wow.I normally stick up for GMs / CSRs... but that is one dumb GM.Come on sony... if your GAME MASTERS can't even type out proper setences in their official communication with a player (you know... the job for which they're being PAID) they do not deserve that job.And "It just didn't drop a chest" says to me that the GM was too lazy to check the logs (yes there are logs of everything, and yes they can give you loot from a bugged chest) and see that the chest poped at suchandsuch location and no one looted anything from it (because it was probably in a wall or something) and so pop the gear in the RL or whoever's inventory.Oh, and to the OP -- definately petition again, and hope you get a GM thats actually worth their salt.<div></div><p>Message Edited by Lord_Ebon on <span class=date_text>10-08-2006</span> <span class=time_text>12:02 PM</span>
