View Full Version : Matron tester
<DIV>I know, this is one of the post that can make you laugh (at me) :smileysad: :smileysad:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1st of all, lets back to Matron's loot table, how come that Mythical item (The Matron's Heart) link went out b4 anyone guild beat her? Because before beta, devs get together for a few days and make characters and raid the content themelves. And that link went out after devs kill Matron. </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>So, Matron is beatable b4 patched as some ppl believe include myself. and there is two ways to beat her: a easy way and a hard way. As far as I know, the devs group was using the easy way to kill her in their testing. and as they mentioned, 5 guilds that have beaten Matron were using the hard way, which requires decent gears, spells, correct strategy and perfect teamworks.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>one of the evidences that make sence for the "easy way" is the patch of Matron's adds. There is no words on any update notes mentioned the patch, which is quite unusual. my guessing is that designers want to make Matron killable even by using the hard way because no one finds out what the "easy way" is so far.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>okay, now, if u dont agree / believe what I say above, the rest of my CRAZY ideas below would make NO sence to you. And thank you for ur time to spent on this useless post.:smileywink::smileywink:</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>1, As far as Matron heals herself around the druid ring, which is mentioned in Update Notes: August 23 (<A href="http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=stat&message.id=320&query.id=50549#M320" target=_blank>http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2/board/message?board.id=stat&message.id=320&query.id=50549#M320</A>). My guessing is that the druid ring gives powers / abilities to Matron. Therefore, if you pull Matron as far as you can from the ring without breaking the encounter, will Matron lose powers / abilities?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>2, I know water just affects knockback on many other encouter, which Matron doesnt have it. But have any of you try her in water (frog pond)? the only evidence that support this idea is that when Matron ports people in fight, she would says :"I call upon the EARTH to remove you from my sight". And water is not the earth.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>3, If the druid ring is releated to Matron, images on the ring might mean something. Have any of one translated those images (riddle online game LOL)?</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>Anyway, I would like to say thank you for those people who spent their times on this CRAZY post. If u dont believe these, treat them as a joke. If you do and have more CRAZY idea about this encouner, feel free to reply or PM me. Again, congratulate all 5 guilds that have beaten this encouter. Have a good day.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV> </DIV>
The easy way is Laser Goggles.

<DIV>Why would the devs make characters and test content correctly when they could just one-shot it and put it on live broken?</DIV>

<DIV>The matron was dev slayed on test when it kept destroying testers (when the first two mobs were orange) and one of those times a member of test looted the heart. He did the same on Chel'Drak.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>I was on test when he looted the tooth and saw the message.</DIV> <DIV> </DIV> <DIV>If you've ever tested before you'd know that devs slay a lot of stuff, heh.</DIV>
<DIV>Devs test the encounters by themselves is necessary because they want to know if the encounter works correctly. as I know, they have been testing EoF raid zones for a while.</DIV>

I know somethings, but not all :smileywink::smileywink:

When they test the encounter in "Dev mode" where they are hitting for 51712 points of slashing damage per hit, it doesn't do much to show that the encounter is beatable, just that the script is working.

I hope EoF is tested a LOT more than all the other expansions combine.
Well any ring event where you yell one wave and kill it will fail to spawn the next wave. They just forgot about this and didn't realize what problems it could cause due to griefing guilds etc. And as far as it not respawning if the Tree was killed after a server reset, the same thing happened in T5 if you spawned Berserk Krathuk but failed to kill it.

Just look at the recent posts about him wanting the leather wrist off matron which pretty much suck for any bruiser. Blackguard plays EQ2 and is also level 70. As we all know however playing the game doesnt mean you know what should go into or come out of it as there are a lot of players that think items, encounters, etc are all working and correct for the level and difficulty.

Everyone also has their own opinion of what's good loot. The devs seem to think the items they are putting out there is good. There are however, many of us that are old school gamers that know better and think this is crap that they are giving us.

<DIV>We looted those bracers Moorguard was drooling over today and everything about them screamed druid. If they are so good for a brawler why don't they proc off of CA's or melee attack rather than spells? Either his toon is actually a druid or ... I dunno, you figure out the rest.</DIV>
